Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Curt Warburton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Advice Mallard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Warburton comes to the cage accompanied by Wretch 32 ft Delilah_ Don`t Be Afraid. Advice Mallard told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Curt Warburton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Advice Mallard! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Warburton shoots in looking for a takedown. Mallard tries to sprawl out of it but Warburton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mallard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Mallard tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. We've been told by Warburton's head coaches at Abandoned Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. A big right from Mallard misses. Warburton fails with the takedown so Mallard counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Mallard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Warburton swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mallard thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mallard postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Warburton is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mallard, into his guard. Mallard is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Warburton defends well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mallard working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Warburton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Warburton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Mallard looking for a guillotine here but Warburton defends easily.

Mallard looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Warburton has picked Mallard up and slammed him! Mallard can't keep hold of the triangle and Warburton manages to pass to side control! Mallard is trying to improve his position. Mallard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Warburton is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mallard has escaped the position, nice work there. Mallard is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Warburton tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Warburton slows the pace down.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mallard regains half guard. Mallard looking for submissions off his back. Mallard makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mallard. Mallard working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Warburton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Warburton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Warburton is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Warburton avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Mallard is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mallard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Warburton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mallard keeping full guard, as Warburton tries to pass. Warburton has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Mallard looking for a sweep. Not yet Mallard, not yet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mallard working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Warburton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Warburton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Warburton passes into half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Warburton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mallard keeps working. Warburton is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Mallard advances to half guard. Mallard is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Warburton sees it coming and defends easily. Warburton is trying to stand.

Warburton is looking to control Mallard's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Warburton avoid being mounted? Advice Mallard has got the better of the ground game so far. Mallard is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Warburton defends it well. Mallard is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Warburton tries to kick Mallard off but Mallard keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Mallard wants to work for an arm triangle but Warburton is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mallard is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Warburton still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Warburton has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Warburton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mallard keeps working. Mallard gets back to half guard. Mallard looking for submissions off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mallard is refusing to be controlled, as Warburton sits in half guard. Warburton tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mallard knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Mallard looking for submissions off his back. Warburton perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Mallard is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Warburton pulls his head out easily. Mallard looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Mallard wants to improve his position but Warburton is controlling well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mallard is still trying to improve position. Mallard looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Mallard is breathing heavily. Warburton wants to free his trapped foot but Mallard is holding on for dear life with his legs. Mallard actively working from the bottom here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mallard wants to control but Warburton is keeping busy and won't allow it. Mallard is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Warburton's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Warburton's back! Mallard looking for the choke but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Advice Mallard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!
Mallard shoots in for a takedown but Warburton shows good takedown defense. Warburton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mallard's waist but Mallard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Warburton off to one side. No luck with that takedown attempt from Warburton. Mallard dives in for a single leg takedown but Warburton sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Mallard tries to pull guard but Warburton holds him up against the cage and eventually Mallard drops back down to his feet.
Curt Warburton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Advice Mallard. Warburton lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Mallard or not.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mallard tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Warburton just stands there and leans against the cage. Warburton is stalling here.
A short right from Warburton. Warburton breaks the clinch.
Warburton shoots in for a takedown but Mallard shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Mallard stuffs the takedown attempt from Warburton. Warburton gets slowly back to his feet. Mallard misses with a body shot.
Mallard shoots and misses and Warburton counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Warburton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mallard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Warburton has managed to get both his arms back between Mallard's legs - danger averted. Curt Warburton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mallard takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Warburton trying to control the position from guard on top but Mallard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Warburton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Warburton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mallard swivels though and keeps the full guard. Warburton has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Mallard to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Warburton is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Mallard pulls down on the head and he's put Warburton to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Advice Mallard! A relieved looking Advice Mallard thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
