Phace is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: "Undecided" by Silverchair. Thomas Conway could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mack Phace's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Conway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mack Phace!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Eddie Farnsworth and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conway throws a sloppy head kick and Phace moves out of range easily.

Conway gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Phace is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Conway working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Phace misses with a knee strike.
Phace drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Conway gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Conway with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Phace tightens his grip and picks Conway up, before dumping him to the ground. Conway manages to land in guard.
Conway not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Conway throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Conway working for a triangle but Phace defends it easily.
Phace preventing the sweep.
Conway working a defensive guard but Phace manages to pass into side control anyway.

Conway tries to improve position but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Phace working the head and body with strikes.
Conway tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Conway takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Conway stops Phace from passing to mount.
Phace is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Conway manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Phace is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Phace is not content to let Conway control the position.
Phace is pressing down on Conway's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Conway drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Conway jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Conway stands up over Phace, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Phace manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Phace landing punches.
Phace controlling the position easily from mount.
Conway can't escape the position.
Phace controlling his opponent.
Conway sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Phace wants to free his trapped foot but Conway is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Conway is pressing down on Phace's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Conway wants to sweep but no luck.
Conway throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Conway looking for a guillotine here but Phace defends easily.

Phace decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mack Phace will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Conway shoots for a double leg takedown but Phace sprawls well. He's pushed Conway's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Conway rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Phace moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Conway throws a series of punches but Phace moves out of range.
Conway misses with a body kick.
Conway showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Phace.
Conway fails to land with a series of punches.

Phace bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Conway is trying to work for a sweep but Phace has mounted him!
Conway swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Phace jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Conway is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Conway and Phace has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Phace lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Phace is breathing heavily.

Phace sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Conway is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Conway manages to work his way to half guard, despite Phace's best efforts.

Conway has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Phace escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Phace!
Conway tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Phace wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Phace tries to move to mount but Conway blocks the move with his legs.
Conway regains half guard.
Conway is looking to improve his position.
Phace looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Conway wants to control but Phace is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Conway regains full guard. Nicely done.
Conway wants to stand and escape but Phace is having none of it.
Conway wants to sweep but no luck.

Conway looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Conway looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Conway trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Conway looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Phace passes into half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Phace stands up from half guard.

Phace closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Conway is looking to regain half guard here but Phace keeps moving and retains side control.
Conway manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Phace is refusing to be controlled, as Conway sits in half guard.
Phace won't allow Conway to pass to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mack Phace showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Phace shoots and misses

and Conway counters by clinching up.
Conway tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Conway is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Conway connects with a nasty looking knee right to Phace's face.
Phace looking for a takedown.
Conway looking to throw knees to the head but Phace is blocking nicely.
Conway scores with a knee to the head.
Conway with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Conway throws an elbow that misses.

Phace ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Phace no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Phace uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Conway misses with a head kick.
Conway throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Phace counters with a takedown into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Conway is looking for a sweep.
Phace working away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Conway is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Phace off and has taken his back!
Conway is controlling the position but Phace somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Conway trying to advance position but Phace counters by regaining guard.
Phace is trying to control the position but Conway postures up.
Conway trying to control but Phace is working from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Phace is trying to hold Conway in close to prevent damage but Conway has managed to pass into half guard.
Ground and pound from Conway.
Conway working Phace over with strikes.

Conway is working for a kimura but Phace is defending it quite comfortably.
Conway looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Phace with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Phace is trying to control but can't.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Conway lands a nice short elbow.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Phace can do anything to dispel that myth.
Conway drops an elbow to the side of Phace's head.
Phace blocking the ground and pound attempt from Conway.

Conway looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Conway throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Mack Phace has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Conway trying to control from Phace's half guard. Phace has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Conway advances to half guard.
Conway moves into full mount! Phace won't be happy about that!
The referee warns Phace that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Mack Phace.
I've got Phace winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
