PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jim Calia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Indigo Starseed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Starseed has chosen Bass Nectar- Take You Down as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jim Calia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Indigo Starseed!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calia misses with a double jab.
Calia misses with a head kick.
Starseed swings for the body but Calia moves out of range.
Calia tries for a takedown but Starseed circles away easily

and Starseed counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Starseed.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Starseed preventing the sweep.

Calia had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Starseed defends it easily.

Calia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Starseed doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Starseed manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Starseed tries to free his leg and advance position but Calia is retaining full guard.

Starseed got a little sloppy there for a moment and Calia has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Starseed has managed to get both his arms back between Calia's legs - danger averted.

Starseed stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Calia swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The defeated Jim Calia had this to say: 'Sorry for my performance to night. I'll get back to the drawing board and evaluate things for me. I promise to come back better. I will prove that I belong at the top.'.
