Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 24 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Lucas!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Steve Rogers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rogers fails to land with a series of punches.
The fighters circle momentarily. Rogers darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.


It looks like Travis Lucas has been cut.
Decent striking displayed by Rogers there.
Rogers has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Lucas swats away the attempt to clinch by Rogers.
Lucas misses with a body shot.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Lucas, right into the meat.
Rogers fails to land with a series of punches.
No joy there for Rogers, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Rogers moves into range and clinches up with Lucas.

Lucas breaks from the clinch.
Rogers throws a body punch but Lucas moves out of range.
Rogers doesn't manage to clinch there - Lucas circles away.
Rogers misses with a series of wild punches.
Lucas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rogers moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rogers misses with a two punch combination.
We've been informed that Lucas has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Rogers throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Lucas counters with an inside leg kick.

Rogers forces Lucas back against the cage and clinches.
Lucas is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Rogers misses with a hook from the clinch.
Rogers is trying to break the clinch but Lucas is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Rogers misses with the head strike.
Rogers misses with a punch on the inside.
With the fighters up against the cage, Lucas throws an elbow but misses.
Rogers lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Rogers lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Rogers lands a shoulder strike.
Rogers on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Rogers has had enough of the clinch but Lucas keeps him there for the moment.
Rogers lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Rogers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rogers looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Rogers throws a series of punches but Lucas moves out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rogers stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lucas.

Rogers rushes Lucas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Rogers's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Lucas misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Rogers scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Rogers wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Lucas tries to stall but Rogers uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Rogers manages to break the clinch.
Rogers throws a right and a left that both miss.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lucas swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lucas connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Rogers throws a series of strikes that have Lucas backpedaling.
A head kick misses from Lucas.
Rogers misses with a wild combination.
Rogers catches Lucas with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Rogers on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rogers has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Lucas.
Rogers fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A swing and a miss from Rogers.
Rogers blocks a head kick by Lucas.
Rogers throws a series of punches but Lucas avoids them all with ease.
Rogers checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lucas avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lucas lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Rogers lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Lucas jabs Rogers right on the nose. Rogers blinks but takes it well.


Rogers is rocked!
Lucas connects with a nice cross there... Rogers is looking wobbly and Lucas recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Rogers to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Lucas jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Travis Lucas!
A very excited looking Travis Lucas rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
