Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Blow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Pettis!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Bruno Lombardi and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blow rushes Pettis and presses him up against the cage.
Pettis looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Blow has Pettis pressed against the cage, preventing Pettis from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Blow lands a nice elbow.

Blow has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Pettis clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Blow tightening his grip on Pettis, looking for the choke.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Blow controlling the positon.
Blow trying to control momentarily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blow keeps control of the position as Pettis tries to break free.
Blow controlling the position well here. Pettis rolled but Blow kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Joe Blow has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Blow clinches up with Pettis and pushes him back against the cage.
Blow is struggling to control the position.

Blow gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Pettis regains guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Blow trying to control but Pettis is working from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Blow accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Blow controlling from the top position.
Pettis keeping moving, preventing Blow from controlling successfully.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Joe Blow just wasn't active enough.

Blow closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Blow breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pettis has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Blow is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Blow gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Blow stalls.

Blow breaks the clinch.
A punch combination from Pettis misses.

Blow moves into the clinch successfully.
Blow throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Pettiss head.

Blow escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Blow shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pettis is trying to defend but Blow finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Blow passes the guard and advances to mount!
Pettis is bucking up trying to escape but Blow cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Blow lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Blow controlling his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Blow scores with a couple of good head shots there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Blow dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Blow dives in and scores a takedown into Pettis's guard.


Pettis is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blow postures up and lands a big shot to Pettis's brow.
Pettis is still in real trouble! Can Blow finish him?
Blow is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Blow slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Blow stands and throws Pettis's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Blow is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pettis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Blow stands up and beckons Pettis to his feet.

Blow dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Pettis has had enough and taps out.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Joe Blow!
Joe Blow tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
The defeated Jay Pettis had this to say: 'Next Time!! God bless'.
