Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Houston Floyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makunouchi Ippo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Makunouchi Ippo has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Houston Floyd's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Houston Floyd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Makunouchi Ippo! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Floyd rushes Ippo and presses him up against the cage. Ippo prevents a body shot from Floyd. Knees in the clinch landing for Floyd.
Floyd keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ippo's efforts to push away. Floyd misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Ippo is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Ippo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Makunouchi Ippo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ippo closes the distance and lands a one-two. Floyd tries to clinch up but Ippo circles away and keeps his distance. Floyd misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Floyd uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ippo.
Floyd tries to clinch and Ippo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Floyd is rocked! No joy there for Ippo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Oh Floyd is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Ippo rushes Floyd and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ippo lands with a left to the head. Ippo avoiding damage as Floyd throws knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Floyd can't find room to land a body shot as Ippo controls the action.
A frustrated look appears on Ippo's face as he tries to break the clinch. Ippo throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Ippo wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Floyd tries a body shot but Ippo blocks it.
Floyd struggles to land a body shot inside as Ippo controls his hands.
Ippo lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Ippo passes to side control. Ippo tries for a kimura but Floyd is defending well. Ippo looks winded! Ippo looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Floyd is avoiding damage well.
Floyd tries to escape but Ippo is in control. Floyd misses with an elbow from the bottom. Floyd seems a little lost for a moment, as Ippo dominates the positioning. Floyd tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Ippo fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ippo is staying tight to Floyd's torso, preventing him from escaping. Floyd can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Floyd parries the strikes from Ippo easily there. Ippo is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Floyd to escape.
Floyd seems to have got his legs back now. Ippo controls the position. Ippo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Floyd is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Floyd struggling a bit here. Ippo throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Floyd is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Floyd regains half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Floyd looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ippo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Ippo thows a huge punch but Floyd dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ippo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Floyd suckers Ippo into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Floyd is now in Ippo's guard!
Floyd has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Floyd trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Floyd missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Floyd working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Floyd accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Floyd drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ippo dives on top into guard. Floyd will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ippo throws a big right hand that misses. Ippo controls the pace of the fight for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Makunouchi Ippo dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Ippo connects with a jab. Floyd shoots in and drives through. Ippo sprawls well. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Floyd. Ippo misses with a double jab
and Floyd counters with a three punch combo that has Ippo backing up. Ippo nods at Floyd to acknowledge the strikes. Ippo tries to clinch up. Floyd keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ippo lands a jab to the head.
Floyd looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ippo is fending him off so far but Floyd persists. Nope, Ippo circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Houston Floyd. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Floyd shoots for a takedown but Ippo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ippo lands a left and a right that send Floyd crashing to the mat, dazed. Ippo thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Houston Floyd has been cut. Ippo changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Ippo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Floyd paws at him with a jab and circles away. Ippo lands a huge takedown. Floyd is out but the ref is slow to react and Ippo lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Floyd lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Makunouchi Ippo!
