Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alberto Del Rio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arizona Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Del Rio comes into the arena with Requiem for a dream blaring out of the sound system. This should be a great matchup!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Del Rio moves into range and clinches up with Reed. Del Rio has Reed pushed against the cage. Del Rio tries to throw a body punch but Reed avoids it by throwing Del Rio back against the cage. Reed is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Del Rio is defending well. Del Rio misses with a knee strike.
Del Rio's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Del Rio clinches with his opponent.
Del Rio's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Reed is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Del Rio is defending well. Reed can't break the clinch.

Reed sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Del Rio's guard. Reed is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Del Rio on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Del Rio tries to get out of the position. Del Rio pushes Reed off looking to stand but Reed dives back in and keeps control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Del Rio checks the leg kick. Reed shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Del Rio as he avoids it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Arizona Reed showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Alberto Del Rio's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Reed throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Del Rio. Sloppy strikes from Reed. Those never looked like landing. Reed throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Reed tries to bum rush Del Rio with a series of wild strikes but Del Rio uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Reed throws a head kick that misses. Reed throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Reed throws a body punch but Del Rio moves out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Reed. Del Rio does a little dance to reset his feet. Nice body punch from Reed. A punch combination from Reed misses. Reed goes for a double leg but Del Rio avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Del Rio continues to drive forward. Del Rio tries to break the clinch but Reed is controlling the position. Del Rio's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Reed closes the distance and clinches. Reed takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Del Rio effectively controlling the action here. Del Rio pulls Reed into guard.

Reed would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Del Rio pushes Reed off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. No joy there for Reed, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Reed lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Reed. Reed scores with a one two! Del Rio had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Del Rio gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Del Rio moves into range and clinches up with Reed. Del Rio can't break the clinch.

Reed is positioning himself well to prevent Del Rio advancing to mount. Alberto Del Rio overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Del Rio wants to stand up but Reed is controlling the position.

You can see the frustration on Reed's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Del Rio tries to stand but Reed is controlling his head. Reed manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Reed wants to control from the top but Del Rio keeps moving. Del Rio is looking to stand up but Reed isn't so interested in that idea. Reed throwing strikes but missing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reed drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Del Rio dives on top into guard. Del Rio trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Reed is looking for a triangle but Del Rio pushes his legs off easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A swing and a miss from Reed. The fight stays on the outside here - Del Rio looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Reed looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Reed fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Reed is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? Del Rio tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Reed manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Del Rio tries to clinch up. Reed feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Del Rios jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! A combination from Reed does no damage. Nice defenses there by Del Rio. Del Rio pushes Reed up against the cage in a clinch. Del Rio drags the fight down to the ground.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alberto Del Rio. I think Del Rio has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
