Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Conchito El Guapo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russell Ives (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). El Guapo comes to the cage accompanied by Bebot. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Conchito El Guapo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Russell Ives! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ives moves into range and clinches up with El Guapo. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ives. Ives misses with some punches.
Ives's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ives has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. El Guapo dodges the punch combination from Ives.
El Guapo misses with a two punch combination.
Ives pushes El Guapo up against the cage in a clinch. Ives wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ives tries to work over El Guapo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Ives has El Guapo pressed against the cage.
Ives cracks El Guapo with a nice body shot. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ives. Ives is pressed up against the cage. El Guapo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ives down to the mat. Ives avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. El Guapo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ives swivels and escapes. El Guapo has been working on his balance at Full Affliction Fight Team, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Ives. Ives looks to land a combination. El Guapo sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. El Guapo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Conchito El Guapo. That's going to take a lot out of him. El Guapo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ives. Ives ducks down and throws a hook to the body but El Guapo moves away. El Guapo moves out of range of the strikes. Ives avoids the head kick by El Guapo.
Ives throws a hook but El Guapo blocks it. El Guapo throws a series of punches but Ives moves out of range. Ives misses with a looping right. El Guapo doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ives counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Conchito El Guapo has been cut. El Guapo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Ives scores with a punch to the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ives scores with the left hand. El Guapo knows he should have avoided that one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ives rushes El Guapo and presses him up against the cage. El Guapo tries to score a body lock takedown but Ives shows good agility there to stay on his feet. El Guapo changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ives fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ives. El Guapo does a little dance to reset his feet. El Guapo fails with a takedown attempt. Ives cracks El Guapo with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Ives lands a nice shot to the body.
Ives tries for a takedown but El Guapo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. El Guapo shoots for a takedown but Ives saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Ives!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ives scores with a jab. El Guapo acknowledges it with a nod of the head. A punch combination from El Guapo misses. El Guapo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ives did well to prevent El Guapo getting side control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Ives trying to control here.
Ives works his way to full guard. Good work. Ives is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! El Guapo has his hands clasped together but Ives extends and breaks El Guapo's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Ives.
