Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Alexander! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Armos Saffedine! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alexander shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Saffedine is trying to defend but Alexander finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Alexander is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Alexander sitting and controlling from the half guard. Alexander's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Alexander knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Saffedine on the ground. Saffedine is defending against the submission attempts here by Alexander.

Alexander is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Saffedine sees it coming and defends easily. Alexander is working for a submission of some sort.
Saffedine actively working from the bottom here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alexander is working for a submission of some sort.
Alexander looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Saffedine looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Alexander seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Saffedine does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

No luck this time Alexander. Saffedine looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Saffedine is staying active underneath Alexander, who seems content to just control the action from this position. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Alexander looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Saffedine is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Alexander scores with a couple of nice shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Saffedine sprawls well initially but Alexander persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Saffedine is staying active underneath Alexander, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Alexander seems to be working for a kimura but Saffedine defends the submission attempt. Ground and pound from Alexander. Paul Alexander overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Alexander is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Saffedine is just riding it out for now. Alexander eventually gives up the hold. Saffedine keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Alexander will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Saffedine has hold of Alexander's hands but Alexander slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saffedine looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Saffedine is breathing heavily. Alexander controlling the action here. Alexander scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Saffedine is defending against the submission attempts here by Alexander.
Saffedine is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Alexander scores with a couple of nice shots. Alexander is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Saffedine looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saffedine is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Alexander pulls his head out easily. Nice strikes from Alexander there. Alexander is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Saffedine can do to turn this around? Alexander seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Alexander in particular looking to stall. Saffedine looking for submissions off his back. Alexander sitting and controlling from the half guard. Alexander winds up and cracks Saffedine with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alexander lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Alexander looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alexander lands with a punch from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Alexander there. Saffedine is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Alexander pulls his head out easily. Alexander is working for a kimura but Saffedine is defending it quite comfortably.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Alexander landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
It looks like Armos Saffedine has been cut. Alexander working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Alexander seems to be working for a kimura but Saffedine defends the submission attempt. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Alexander is controlling the pace.

Alexander manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Saffedine on his heels. He'll look to pass Saffedine's guard now, I'm sure. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Alexander's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Alexander makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The cut above Armos Saffedine's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Saffedine keeping moving, preventing Alexander from controlling successfully. Alexander drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alexander jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Alexander trying to control the position from guard on top but Saffedine is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Saffedine takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Alexander working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Saffedine's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alexander stays in close to Saffedine's body and controls the position. Alexander connects with a couple of short punches. Alexander avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Alexander not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Alexander stands and throws Saffedine's legs to the side, diving into side control. Alexander connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Saffedine some visible discomfort.
Armos Saffedine's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Armos Saffedine's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
