The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shorette ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Van Winkle moves away.
Butch Shorette seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Van Winkle looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Van Winkle takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Shorette lands a glancing blow to the side of Van Winkle's head.
Shorette misses with the combination.
Shorette fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Shorette jabs Van Winkle to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Shorette lands a really nice looking cross but Van Winkle seems unphased.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Shorette has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Shorette smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Shorette is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Shorette thuds a left hand into Van Winkle's body.
Van Winkle is still on wobbly legs! Can Shorette finish him?
Shorette jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Van Winkle moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Shorette steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Van Winkle is out on his feet! Shorette sets himself and nearly takes Van Winkle's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Butch Shorette!
Butch Shorette bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
