Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Monte Bernard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Flynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monte Bernard has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Monte Bernard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, William Flynn! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flynn tries to clinch but Bernard is having none of it. Bernard doesn't succeed with the takedown and Bernard takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Bernard fails with the takedown and Flynn counters with a slapping leg kick. Flynn drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Flynn tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Bernard holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Bernard is looking to regain half guard here but Flynn keeps moving and retains side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bernard manages to work his way to half guard, despite Flynn's best efforts. Bernard tries to get to full guard but Flynn has control of the leg. Flynn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bernard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Flynn is thwarting Bernard's attempts to control the position. Bernard moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Flynn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bernard pulls Flynn in to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bernard has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Bernard is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Flynn wants to stand but Bernard is controlling his posture from full guard. Bernard wants to stand but Flynn is controlling the position. Bernard wants to sweep but no luck. Bernard trying to strike off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flynn working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Bernard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Flynn passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Bernard is concentrating on defense, preventing Flynn from advancing position. Bernard landing rabbit punches to the side of Flynn's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points. Bernard wants to get back to his feet.
Flynn wants to control but Bernard is keeping him busy. Bernard is looking for a sweep. Flynn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Flynn sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bernard defending well though. Flynn wants to free his trapped foot but Bernard is holding on for dear life with his legs. Bernard keeping hold of Flynn's head, controlling as best he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Flynn is looking to advance position but Bernard won't allow it. Flynn is looking to take a break and control but Bernard is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Flynn scores with a jab to the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Flynn dives in and grabs Bernard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bernard pushes down on Flynn's head and hops out. Bernard gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Flynn to score an easy takedown into full guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Flynn avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Monte Bernard will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Flynn fails with an attempt to clinch.
Flynn pushes Bernard up against the cage in a clinch. Bernard pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bernard closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Flynn to the mat! Flynn manages to get full guard. Bernard working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Flynn's head. Bernard slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Flynn is trying to control the position but Bernard postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bernard forces his way into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bernard works his foot free and advances to mount. Bernard controlling from the full mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bernard cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flynn reaches up to try and control the position but Bernard seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Flynn rolls and tries to escape and now Bernard has his back!
Flynn looking very determined here, making life difficult for Bernard.
Flynn is trying to get back to his feet but Bernard has full control of the position and if anything, Flynn has just worked his way into a worse spot. Bernard is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Flynn up.
Monte Bernard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bernard tightening his grip on Flynn, looking for the choke. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Flynn has hold of Bernard's leg, trying to break free but it's let Bernard lock up a rear naked choke! This could be big trouble! Flynn is turning an unusual color here… he's out! Bernard throws him to one side and jumps onto the cage to celebrate with his fans.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Monte Bernard!
