Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Timmy Jarvis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyoske Akashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kyoske Akashi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Timmy Jarvis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kyoske Akashi! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akashi leaves Jarvis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jarvis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jarvis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Some wild striking there from Akashi.
Jarvis circles away from the clinch attempt and Jarvis counters with a three punch combo that has Akashi backing up. Akashi nods at Jarvis to acknowledge the strikes. Akashi throws a head kick that Jarvis semi-blocks.
Jarvis is rocked!
It looks like Timmy Jarvis has been cut. Jarvis clinches up with Akashi and pushes him back against the cage. Oh Jarvis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Akashi fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Jarvis seems to have got his legs back now. Jarvis tries to pull guard but Akashi won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Timmy Jarvis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jarvis doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Akashi lands a shot to the body. Jarvis blocks an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akashi prevents Jarvis from breaking the clinch. Jarvis changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Akashi fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Akashi gets tackled into the cage by Jarvis. Jarvis maintains the clinch. Akashi is looking to break free of the clinch but Jarvis has double underhooks. Akashi is trying to drag Jarvis to the mat but Jarvis just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Akashi will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Jarvis up against the cage. Akashi landing knees to the body.
Akashi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Jarvis. Jarvis misses with a takedown and Akashi counters with a thumping low kick. Akashi misses with a head kick.
Jarvis takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Akashi throws a nice looking combination but Jarvis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jarvis shoots in but Akashi avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jarvis shoots in for a takedown but Akashi shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jarvis is breathing heavily. Jarvis gets in close and instigates a clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Akashi tries to break free but Jarvis pushes him back against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akashi jumps guard but Jarvis turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Akashi is looking to control Jarvis's arms but Jarvis gets an underhook and turns him. Now Akashi has his back to the cage. Jarvis gets control of Akashi's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jarvis will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Jarvis pulls Akashi in close to prevent any damage. Akashi looking to sit in guard and control but Jarvis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jarvis stays in close to Akashi's body and controls the position. Akashi will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jarvis stands and steps away. Akashi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Jarvis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Akashi as he jumps to the side. Jarvis shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Jarvis gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Akashi lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
A short right hand to the side of the head by Akashi. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jarvis blocks an uppercut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Akashi has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Akashi is looking to break free of the clinch but Jarvis has double underhooks. Akashi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Akashi throws a head kick that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kyoske Akashi dominated that round. The cut man is working on Timmy Jarvis's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Akashi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jarvis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Jarvis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jarvis showed some decent athleticism there. Jarvis slows the pace down in half guard. Akashi throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Akashi tries to get to full guard but Jarvis has control of the leg. Jarvis is looking for a kimura but Akashi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jarvis to get the leverage. Jarvis escapes and gets back to his feet. Jarvis goes for a double leg but Akashi avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Akashi continues to drive forward. Jarvis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Akashi gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Akashi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Timmy Jarvis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Akashi misses with a head kick.
Jarvis slips under a jab from Akashi. Akashi shoots in and bounces Jarvis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Akashi wants to control from the top but Jarvis keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akashi with a flurry of punches that miss. Jarvis manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Akashi tries to reverse the position but Jarvis maintains control. Jarvis controlling his opponent. Jarvis throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jarvis misses with a head shot. Jarvis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jarvis manages to capitalize on a mistake by Akashi to take his back! Akashi trying to get back to his feet but Jarvis is in full control for now. Jarvis is riding his opponent, not letting Akashi buck him off. Jarvis throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Timmy Jarvis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jarvis is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Akashi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Akashi swinging wildly here.

Jarvis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Akashi counters with a head kick. Jarvis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Some wild striking there from Jarvis.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jarvis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Akashi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jarvis somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Timmy Jarvis. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck with that takedown attempt from Akashi. Akashi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Jarvis tries for a takedown but Akashi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Akashi dives in and grabs Jarvis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jarvis pushes down on Akashi's head and hops out. A solid leg kick lands there for Akashi.
Jarvis shoots in looking for a takedown. Akashi tries to sprawl out of it but Jarvis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Akashi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jarvis blocks a head kick by Akashi.
Jarvis tries to close the distance and clinch but Akashi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jarvis closes the distance and pushes Akashi back into the cage. Akashi tries to land knees in the clinch but Jarvis avoids the damage to the body. Akashi tries to pull guard but Jarvis forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Jarvis tries a knee to the head but Akashi blocks it.
Jarvis is looking to break free of the clinch but Akashi has double underhooks. Akashi lands an elbow inside that Jarvis shrugs off. Akashi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jarvis misses with a wild combination.
Akashi doesn't manage to clinch there - Jarvis circles away.
Akashi shoots for a takedown but Jarvis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jarvis shoots for a double leg takedown but Akashi sprawls well. He's pushed Jarvis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Akashi scores with a head kick.

Jarvis sprawls well initially but Akashi persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Akashi tries to pass to full mount but Jarvis defends it. Akashi stalling away here and it's allowed Jarvis to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Akashi is looking to stand up but Jarvis won't let him. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Akashi being controlled here momentarily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
And that's the end of the fight! Kyoske Akashi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Akashi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
