0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dada Fariah! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Sergei Dronov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bowers closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Fariah did well to prevent Bowers getting side control. Bowers wants to stand but Fariah has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Fariah wants to get back to his feet. Bowers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bowers in particular looking to stall. Fariah wants to stand back up but Bowers manages to pass into side control.
Fariah is pushing Bowers's head away, looking to escape. Bowers manages to hold on to the position though. Bowers landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Bowers is figuring out what he wants to do next. Fariah is breathing heavily. Bowers looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Bowers is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Bowers is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fariah is just riding it out for now. Bowers eventually gives up the hold. Bowers stops Fariah from getting back to his feet.

Fariah tries to kick Bowers off but Bowers keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Bowers perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Fariah pushes Bowers off looking to stand but Bowers dives back in and keeps control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Bowers throws a head kick but Fariah moves out of range.

Bowers wants to slow Fariah down by chopping away at his legs. Fariah lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bowers circles away quickly and effectively. Dada Fariah is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bowers uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Fariah. Fariah lands a head kick. Bowers smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Fariah tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Marcos Bowers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fariah needs to keep his hands up - Bowers had a free shot at his head there. Bowers misses with a few strikes there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bowers is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Fariah's shoulder. That is not cool. Bowers scores with a couple of short elbows. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bowers lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Fariah down.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marcos Bowers will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Fariah is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bowers is controlling him well. Fariah is being controlled here.
