Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Plezts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Plezts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Shamrock! The judges for this bout are , and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shamrock changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Plezts looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Plezts sneaks back into half guard. Shamrock prevents Plezts from improving his position. Plezts is trying to stand up here but Shamrock is controlling him well. Plezts wants to get back to full guard. Plezts avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Shamrock. Shamrock has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Plezts tries to roll over but Shamrock keeps him under control. Ground and pound from Shamrock. Plezts is looking to improve his position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Plezts takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Plezts misses with a takedown and Shamrock counters with a low kick, right behind Plezts 's knee. Plezts gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Shamrock counters with a shoot takedown. Plezts fights it but they end up in guard. Plezts is breathing heavily. Shamrock sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shamrock thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Shamrock wants to control from the top but Plezts keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Plezts throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Shamrock drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Shamrock seems to have locked his on tight now - Plezts screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Shamrock, as he picks up the win!
