Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Timoteo Belo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sven Hansson!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belo tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hansson defends well and Belo ends up having to push Hansson into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Hansson.
Hansson avoiding damage.
Belo is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Hansson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Hansson manages to break the clinch.
Hansson pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Hansson misses with a hook to the body
and Belo counters with a shoot takedown. Hansson fights it but they end up in guard.
Hansson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Belo controls the pace.
Belo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Belo trying to control but Hansson is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Belo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Belo drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Belo seems to have locked his on tight now - Hansson screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Belo, as he picks up the win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Timoteo Belo!
