Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonah Hex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Mattews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hex comes to the cage accompanied by Johnny Cash - Rusty Cage .. This should be a great matchup!

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hex slips under a jab from Mattews.
Hex defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mattews.
Hex tries to clinch but Mattews is having none of it.
Jonah Hex seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mattews accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Mattews goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hex has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mattews but great work by Hex.

Mattews is looking to improve his position but Hex isn't that keen on the idea.
Hex gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Mattews keeps the fight on the outside.
Hex throws a series of punches but Mattews moves out of range.
Mattews lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Hex shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mattews eats them both and turns towards Hex to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Mattews dives in and grabs Hex's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hex pushes down on Mattews's head and hops out.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mattews jumps guard but Hex turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Jonah Hex has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Mattews.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
