Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Campbell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hammy Hamerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Campbell darts in and clinches Hamerson up against the cage.

Hamerson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Campbell regains guard.
Campbell controls Hamerson momentarily but Hamerson frees himself.
Campbell wants to sweep but no luck.
Hamerson is fighting to break Campbell's control of his arms but Campbell is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sergio Campbell.
Campbell lands with a slapping head kick.

Campbell takes the fight into the clinch.
Campbell tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hamerson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Campbell jumps guard but Hamerson stands there with Campbell around his waist. Campbell gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Campbell takes a shot to the head.

Campbell tries to pull guard but Hamerson won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sergio Campbell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Campbell jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hamerson walks away with a smile on his face. Campbell gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Campbell gets caught flat footed, as Hamerson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Hamerson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hamerson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Campbell pulls Hamerson in close to his closed guard and prevents Hamerson from doing any damage or advancing position.
Campbell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Campbell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hamerson on the ground.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Campbell holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Sergio Campbell wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Hamerson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Campbell to the ground. Hamerson is now in Campbell's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hamerson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Campbell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Campbell tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Campbell is controlling Hamerson's posture.
Campbell is breathing heavily.
Campbell trying to control the position.
Hamerson scoring with some ground and pound.
Campbell is wriggling around but Hamerson manages to pass to half guard.
Campbell trying to hold on to Hamerson's head to control him but Hamerson postures up.

Hamerson stands up out of the half guard.

Hamerson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Campbell is trying to defend but Hamerson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

My spies in Facebreaker Academy : Striking inform me that Hamerson has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hamerson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Campbell, who protects the arm well.
Campbell takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The referee asks Hamerson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hamerson prefers to stall for the moment though.
Campbell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hamerson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Campbell pushes Hamerson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hamerson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Hamerson stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Hamerson shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Campbell is on queer street and Hamerson is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
