Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jax Teller!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richie Fanoogon!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teller throws a leg kick

and Fanoogon counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Fanoogon controlling the pace.
Fanoogon throwing shots but Teller is blocking nicely.
Fanoogon has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Teller tries to hold on but Fanoogon pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fanoogon punching from mount but Teller doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Fanoogon lands with some strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fanoogon tries to control but Teller wriggling away.

Fanoogon working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Poor strikes thrown by Fanoogon there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Fanoogon throwing strikes here but Teller is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Fanoogon tries to control but Teller wriggling away.

Fanoogon looking for a guillotine from mount but Teller is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fanoogon not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Teller is controlling Fanoogon's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Fanoogon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fanoogon wants to control but Teller is keeping him busy.
My spies in Weed Nation inform me that Fanoogon has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Fanoogon is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Fanoogon wants to control from the top but Teller keeps moving.
Fanoogon pushes down on Teller's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Fanoogon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Teller with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fanoogon scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Richie Fanoogon dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Teller cracks a nice hook into Fanoogon's ribs.

Fanoogon drives through with a takedown into Teller's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Fanoogon is looking to pass into half guard but Teller pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Teller is in guard.

Fanoogon controls Teller momentarily but Teller frees himself.
Teller working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Fanoogon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Teller defends it easily.

Teller's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Teller in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Teller is posturing up here but Fanoogon has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Teller tries to roll out but it's too tight and Teller has to tap! Slick submission there by Fanoogon!
