Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jacob Israel! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Merel! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Merel keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Israel. Israel tries to land a front kick but Merel steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Merel feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Israels jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Merel keeps the fight on the outside. Merel lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Israel thuds his shin into the meat of Merel's side. Merel throws a poor cross that misses
and Israel counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Israel. A short uppercut from Israel. A short left from Israel. Israel lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Merel backwards. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Israel works on Merel's body with a couple of short punches. Merel has a couple of punches blocked by Israel.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Merel creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Merel can't find room to land a body shot as Israel controls the action.

Israel lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes. Israel lands a nice elbow. Merel trying to stall but Israel improves his position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Israel lands an elbow that stopped Merel in his tracks for a moment. Israel with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Merel is rocked! Israel creates a bit of space for himself and unleashed what can only be described as a tiger uppercut, straight out of Street Fighter! Merel crashes to the mat! Can he make it back to his feet in time? 3,4,5,6... it doesn't look like he's going to make it! Merel face plants back to the mat and the referee calls off the fight! Israel takes it with a brutal technical knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Jacob Israel! Jacob Israel is the new light heavyweight champion!
