Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Ball (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alek Khabilov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Ball! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alek Khabilov! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Khabilov throws the left hand but Ball avoids the punch easily. Khabilov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Khabilov showed some decent athleticism there. Ball is trying to maintain the position but Khabilov is very close to passing his half guard. Ball looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Ball is looking for a sweep. Khabilov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ball is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Zero Tolerance, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Ball looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Ball looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Ball is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ball is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Khabilov pulls his head out easily. Ball trying to control but Khabilov postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khabilov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Khabilov looks winded! Ball looking for submissions off his back. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Khabilov working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Ball looking for submissions off his back. Khabilov wants to take a breather but Ball is having none of it. Khabilov is working for a kimura but Ball is defending it quite comfortably.

Ball could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Ball is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Khabilov is tapping! Great win for Ball!
