Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damian Richmond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Atifete Jahjaga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jahjaga has chosen Waka Flocka Flame - Round of Applause as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Atifete Jahjaga has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Atifete Jahjaga! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jahjaga shoots in and gets a takedown into Richmond's guard. Richmond tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jahjaga showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Richmond is trying to control the position but Jahjaga postures up. Jahjaga lands a couple of digs. Jahjaga throws an elbow that misses. Richmond uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jahjaga's guard. Nice move by Richmond! Jahjaga is looking to sweep but instead, Richmond has passed into half guard.
Jahjaga is not content to let Richmond control the position.

Richmond will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jahjaga tries to kick Richmond off but Richmond keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Richmond is stalling here. Jahjaga is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Richmond seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jahjaga has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. It looks like Jahjaga might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jahjaga gets a double leg takedown into Richmond's guard. Jahjaga wants to control from the top but Richmond keeps moving. Richmond is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Richmond looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jahjaga is one step ahead there. Jahjaga is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Atifete Jahjaga hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Richmond tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jahjaga sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Richmond somewhat. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jahjaga gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Jahjaga closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Richmond is not content to let Jahjaga control the position. Jahjaga slows the pace down in half guard. Richmond controlling the position well. Richmond is staying active underneath Jahjaga, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Atifete Jahjaga. Richmond is looking to clinch. Jahjaga closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Richmond did well to prevent Jahjaga getting side control. Jahjaga is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Richmond still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Richmond has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Richmond trying to control the position but Jahjaga is working away. Jahjaga tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Richmond wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Richmond thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Richmond wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jahjaga keeps working. Jahjaga is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Richmond is controlling him well. Jahjaga tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Richmond presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Richmond trying to control but he's not successful this time. Jahjaga really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Richmond. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Richmond takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Damian Richmond just wasn't active enough. Jahjaga shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Richmond manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Jahjaga chips away with some ground and pound. Richmond tries to land a sweep but no joy. Richmond working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jahjaga. Jahjaga is working Richmond over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Jahjaga sitting in guard, not really doing much. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Richmond keeping moving, preventing Jahjaga from controlling successfully. Atifete Jahjaga has got the better of the ground game so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Jahjaga drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Richmond manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jahjaga has Richmond in his guard. Richmond won't allow Jahjaga to get back to his feet. Jahjaga pushes Richmond off and scrambles back to his feet.
Richmond wants to clinch up but Jahjaga keeps it at a distance. Jahjaga clinches. Jahjaga lands a takedown into guard.
Atifete Jahjaga is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. And that's the end of the fight! Atifete Jahjaga comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jahjaga has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
