Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joel Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Elton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freeman comes to the cage accompanied by Time to Pretend. Elton is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Phil Collins - In the air tonight. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joel Freeman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Terry Elton! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Freeman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Elton is not content to let Freeman control the position. Freeman landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Freeman trying to control the position but Elton is working away. Freeman stands up. Freeman keeps the fight on the outside. Freeman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Freeman connects with a nice short shot to Elton's temple. Freeman lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Elton makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Freeman has managed to clinch.
Freeman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Elton closes the distance looking to clinch and Freeman counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Freeman. Freeman blocks an elbow strike. Freeman jumps guard.
Freeman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Elton is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Elton tries to free his leg and advance position but Freeman is retaining full guard. Elton trying to control but Freeman is working from the bottom. Elton working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Freeman scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Elton throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Elton wants to clinch and Freeman counters with a single leg into guard. Elton didn't expect that. Freeman is breathing heavily. Elton is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Elton is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Elton tries to land a sweep but no joy. Freeman controls from within his opponent's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Elton keeping moving, preventing Freeman from controlling successfully. Freeman chips away with some ground and pound. Elton is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Freeman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Freeman stands up from guard. Let's bang! Elton doesn't succeed with the takedown and Freeman counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Elton! Freeman wants to control the pace but Elton is squirming around nicely. Freeman is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Elton can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Elton regains half guard. Elton is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Freeman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Freeman's back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Elton somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Freeman breaks Elton's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Freeman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Freeman keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Elton's head. Freeman stands up and waves to Elton to follow him. Freeman swings for the body but Elton moves out of range.
Freeman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Elton sprawls well initially but Freeman persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Elton is trying to maintain the position but Freeman is very close to passing his half guard. Elton moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Elton manages to escape and get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Freeman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Elton, pushing him back against the cage. Elton creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Elton tries to pull guard but Freeman holds him up against the cage and eventually Elton drops back down to his feet.

Elton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Freeman is working away from the top position though. Freeman stands up and beckons Elton to join him on the feet. Elton misses with a body kick. Freeman circles away from the clinch attempt and Freeman counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Elton! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Elton taking shots to the head. Elton tries to hold on but Freeman postures up. Elton is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Freeman with the ground and pound from mount. Freeman working away from the top, dropping strikes. Elton is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Freeman has hold of Elton's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Elton manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Elton is squirming around, avoiding Freeman's attempts to control the action. Freeman is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Elton is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Elton's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Freeman postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Elton looks a forlorn figure.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Freeman fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Elton clinches but Freeman breaks the clinch and Freeman counters with a shoot takedown. Elton fights it but they end up in guard. Freeman advances to half guard. Freeman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Freeman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Elton tries to kick Freeman off but Freeman keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Freeman is tying to control. Elton wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Freeman uses his free foot to push down on Elton's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Elton. Freeman landing strikes, looking to finish! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Freeman lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

That's one minute gone in the round. Elton taking some punishment here, with Freeman in his half guard. Elton pushes Freeman off looking to stand but Freeman dives back in and keeps control.
Elton is not content to let Freeman control the position. Ground and pound from Freeman. Elton kicks Freeman off and gets back to his feet. Freeman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Elton takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

After a battle for position, Freeman asserts his dominance and retains side control. Freeman stands up and beckons Elton to his feet. Freeman gets a takedown into half guard. That's three minutes gone in the round. Freeman lands strikes from half guard. Ground and pound from Freeman. Freeman gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Elton tries a head kick but it misses.
Terry Elton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Elton darts in trying to clinch and Freeman holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Freeman fails to pull guard.
Freeman prevents Elton from breaking the clinch. Freeman is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Elton pulls him back up using the underhooks. Freeman unloads a knee to the mid-section. Elton lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Elton throws a knee to the head but misses.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Freeman takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Elton misses with an elbow strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Elton is looking to break free of the clinch but Freeman has double underhooks. Elton can't find room to land a body shot as Freeman controls the action.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Elton with shots to the head and body - Freeman looks very uncomfortable down there.
And that's the end of the fight! Joel Freeman showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Freeman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
