The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt tries to bum rush Waldteufel with a series of wild strikes but Waldteufel uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Schmidt lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Waldteufel throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Schmidt's waist but Schmidt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Waldteufel off to one side.
Waldteufel shoots in but no luck this time.
Waldteufel shoots in for a takedown but Schmidt shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Don Schmidt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Waldteufel.

Schmidt lands with a right that hurts Waldteufel. Waldteufel looks to clinch but Schmidt throws a short knee that drops Waldteufel. This one is all over!
