Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Gates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian McDunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDunn comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Lost In Forever-P.O.D. kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jack Gates could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ian McDunn's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Gates! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Ian McDunn! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gates's hands are dropping dangerously low here and McDunn connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gates scrambles back to his feet. Gates looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Gates goes for a double leg but McDunn avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as McDunn continues to drive forward. Gates is looking to take this one to the mat. Gates has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by McDunn after a bit of a struggle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Gates. That's going to take a lot out of him. McDunn connects with a knee to the head.
Gates tries for a takedown but McDunn manages to get underhooks.
McDunn looks to throw an elbow but misses. McDunn gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Gates.
Gates tries to score a body lock takedown but McDunn shows good agility there to stay on his feet. McDunn lands with a short head shot on the inside. Gates is trying to work for a single leg takedown but McDunn pulls him back up using the underhooks. McDunn wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. McDunn throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gatess head. McDunn content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Gates is looking for a takedown up against the cage. McDunn gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. McDunn lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. The referee calls for McDunn to work.
Gates has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by McDunn after a bit of a struggle. Gates drops down looking for an ankle pick but McDunn pulls his leg out and moves away.
McDunn lands with a nice combination. Gates backs away looking to recover. Gates throws a body punch but McDunn moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McDunn scores with a jab to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gates doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. McDunn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gates moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Gates gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. McDunn tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gates is able to avoid easily. McDunn's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and McDunn duly obliges. Gates fails with a takedown attempt. Gates moves forwards but McDunn connects with a nice, crisp jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McDunn lands a big right hand that sends Gates crashing to the mat! McDunn stays standing though and waves Gates back to his feet! McDunn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Gates backs away from a small jab... but McDunn lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Gates crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! McDunn with a spectacular finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Ian McDunn! Ian McDunn tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
