Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chris Weiner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian McGordon! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Weiner misses with a body kick. A leg kick checked by McGordon. Weiner misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McGordon takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. McGordon looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Weiner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Weiner wants to slow McGordon down by chopping away at his legs. Weiner tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and McGordon is able to avoid easily. Weiner throws a chopping leg kick but McGordon manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Weiner misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Weiner tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. A swing and a miss from McGordon. A big left from McGordon misses. Weiner connects with a solid leg kick. Weiner throws a lazy head kick and McGordon counters with a takedown into side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! You can see the frustration on Weiner's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. McGordon is looking to take a break and control but Weiner is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. McGordon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Weiner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weiner wants to control but McGordon postures up. McGordon throws a strike aimed at the side of Weiner's head but Weiner avoids it well. McGordon working the head with strikes. Weiner is not content to let McGordon control the position. Weiner regains half guard. McGordon sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Weiner defending well though. McGordon tries to pass to full mount but Weiner defends it. McGordon controlling the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGordon wants to take a breather but Weiner is having none of it. McGordon throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Weiner to regain full guard. Weiner wants to sweep here but McGordon controlling him for the moment. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Weiner holds on and takes a little breather. McGordon stands up over Weiner, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McGordon chips away with some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Weiner is trying to control the position but McGordon postures up. Weiner had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McGordon defends it easily. Weiner working for a triangle but McGordon defends it easily.
McGordon stays in close to Weiner's body and controls the position. McGordon makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. McGordon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McGordon trying to control but Weiner is working from the bottom. McGordon might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Weiner haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. McGordon stands up over Weiner, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. McGordon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Weiner is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. McGordon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Weiner is working away from the top position though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Weiner looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McGordon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. McGordon throwing shots but Weiner is blocking nicely. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. McGordon lands a nice short elbow. Weiner blocking the ground and pound attempt from McGordon. McGordon working the head and body with strikes. McGordon performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Weiner is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McGordon's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McGordon's back! McGordon trying to control the hands but Weiner breaks the grip.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGordon can do anything to dispel that myth. The fighters are battling for position here. McGordon manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Chris Weiner just wasn't active enough. Weiner throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. McGordon misses with a hook. A momentary lapse in concentration from Weiner enables McGordon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Weiner manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. McGordon pushes down on Weiner's leg and manages to get into half guard. McGordon prevents Weiner from improving his position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Weiner trying to control here.

Brian McGordon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Weiner's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
McGordon gets the takedown into side control. Weiner is looking to reverse the position. McGordon laying and praying for a moment but Weiner takes advantage and regains half guard. McGordon prevents Weiner from improving his position. McGordon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Weiner doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McGordon. McGordon is looking to stall here but Weiner recovers full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGordon missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. McGordon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Weiner looking to control.
McGordon throws a big elbow that misses. Weiner seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. McGordon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Weiner working a defensive guard here.

Weiner stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Weiner wants it to stay on the feet. Weiner fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt McGordon. Weiner throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Weiner wants to land a leg kick but McGordon is out of range. Weiner throws a half hearted mid kick. McGordon rushes Weiner and presses him up against the cage. Weiner swings away with an uppercut that misses.
McGordon lands on the inside with an uppercut. Weiner can't find room to land a body shot as McGordon controls the action.
The referee calls for McGordon to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McGordon keeps control of Weiner as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. McGordon lands a nice uppercut. McGordon lands a nice shot to the body. Weiner throws a punch but it's blocked by McGordon. McGordon avoiding damage.

And that's the end of the fight! Brian McGordon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got McGordon winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
