Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Miles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Fenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ethan Miles looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ethan Miles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcus Fenix! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miles throws a sloppy head kick and Fenix moves out of range easily. Miles is looking to clinch but Fenix is avoiding it.
Miles tries to close the distance and clinch but Fenix swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Fenix closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Miles tries to bench press Fenix off him but Fenix keeps the position. Miles is working hard here to advance position. Fenix lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Miles down.
Miles is looking to reverse the position. Miles gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Fenix trying to control the action but Miles is working from the bottom. Miles trying to control from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fenix wants to control but Miles is keeping him busy. Fenix looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Fenix slips a nice elbow through Miles's hands, connecting with Miles's forehead. Fenix trying to mount his opponent but Miles defends it. Miles is trying to stand back up but Fenix is controlling him
Fenix seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Miles does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Fenix slips a nice elbow through Miles's hands, connecting with Miles's forehead. Fenix is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Miles is breathing heavily. Fenix prevents Miles from standing back up.
Fenix decides to return to a standing position. Fenix gets a takedown into half guard. Fenix lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fenix lands with a punch from half guard. Fenix working Miles over with strikes. Fenix working the head and body with strikes. Fenix is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Miles is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Miles is staying active underneath Fenix, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Fenix is stalling here. Miles is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Fenix seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Miles has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Fenix is looking to regain half guard here but Miles keeps moving and retains side control. You can see the frustration on Fenix's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Fenix lands with a thumping leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Fenix dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Miles doesn't succeed with the takedown and Fenix counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Fenix trying to control but Miles is working from the bottom. Fenix throws a big right hand that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fenix trying to control the position from guard on top but Miles is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Miles is on top in guard.
Miles distracts Fenix with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miles is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Fenix is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Fenix has escaped and now he's on top! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Miles is working an open guard so Fenix takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Fenix throws a solid leg kick but Miles takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Fenix. Fenix walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Miles checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Fenix closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Miles to the mat! Miles manages to get full guard. Miles keeping moving, preventing Fenix from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fenix must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Fenix won't allow Miles to get back to his feet. Fenix postures up and lands a big shot to Miles's brow. Fenix preventing the sweep. Fenix wants to pass the guard but Miles is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Fenix lands a two punch combo.
Fenix tries to clinch but Miles moves away and Miles counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Miles wants to pass the guard but Fenix is keeping the position. Miles stands up from Fenix's guard - Miles perhaps looking for a knockout. Ethan Miles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fenix shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fenix was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Miles tries to reverse the position but Fenix maintains control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miles sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Fenix not landing any meaningful shots this time. Fenix takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Miles on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Miles is pressing down on Fenix's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Fenix's corner. There ya go! There ya go! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Fenix showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Fenix tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Fenix closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fenix lands in his opponent's guard. Miles keeping moving, preventing Fenix from controlling successfully. Miles looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Fenix gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Fenix looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miles manages to get to full guard.
Miles looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Fenix wants to control from the top but Miles keeps moving. Fenix is looking to stand up but Miles won't let him.

Fenix doesn't defend quickly enough and Miles has managed to lock this one up! Can Fenix escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Miles on a fantastic submission victory.
