Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rob Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andrzej Zabijaka!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zabijaka takes the fight into the clinch.
Zabijaka gets through Alvarez's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Alvarez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Zabijaka pulls his leg out and moves away.

Zabijaka rushes Alvarez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Alvarez is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Zabijaka gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Zabijaka manages to break the clinch.

Zabijaka moves into the clinch.
Zabijaka wants a takedown.
Alvarez goes for a takedown attempt but Zabijaka pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rob Alvarez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Zabijaka looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Alvarez!

That's one minute gone in the round.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Zabijaka wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alvarez keeps working.
Alvarez parries the strikes from Zabijaka easily there. Zabijaka is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Alvarez to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A lull in the action here as Zabijaka stalls from top position.
Alvarez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zabijaka on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alvarez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Zabijaka wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Alvarez tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Zabijaka presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Zabijaka pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Zabijaka cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!


Alvarez is rocked!
Zabijaka lands a big shot to the head and Alvarez winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Andrzej Zabijaka!
