Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Townsend (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Gear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pedro Townsend!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gear misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gear with a poor takedown
and Townsend counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Gear!
Townsend stands up.
Gear throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Townsend's waist but Townsend gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gear off to one side.
Townsend misses with a takedown
and Gear counters with a stiff right hand.
Gear has his takedown stuffed
and Townsend counters by moving into the clinch.
Pedro Townsend has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Gear.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Townsend drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gear pulls his leg out and moves away.
Gear wants to clinch but Townsend slips to the side
and Townsend counters by clinching up.
Gear tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Townsend has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Gear after a bit of a struggle.
Gear wants to stall.
Townsend could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Townsend lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Townsend performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Townsend seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gear for as long as he can get away with.
Townsend is thwarting Gear's attempts to control the position.
Gear wants to stand back up but Townsend manages to pass into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Townsend is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gear has escaped the position, nice work there.

Gear wants to control but Townsend postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Townsend has an Americana. Gear didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Townsend is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Townsend hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
