The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machine shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lugz defends it nicely. Machine has been working on his balance at BLACKSMITH GYM - THE 25 Coach Las Vegas Mega-Gym, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Lugz. The fight stays on the outside here - Lugz looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Machine shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Machine showed some decent athleticism there. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Lugz is not content to let Machine control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Machine thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lugz's head. Machine thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Lugz is defending against the submission attempts here by Machine.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machine is nestled in close to Lugz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Machine is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Lugz is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rock Machine! Rock Machine seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
