Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Koschek! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Cack! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Joseph Jones and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cack shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Koschek but Koschek pushes him off and we're back to square one. Cack shoots in and bounces Koschek off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Cack working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Koschek preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Cack postures up in Koschek's guard and throws a big left but Koschek blocks it. Cack is looking to work some ground and pound but Koschek has wrist control. Koschek is breathing heavily. Cack trying to control the position from guard on top but Koschek is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cack throwing strikes but missing. Cack has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cack trying to control the position from guard on top but Koschek is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cack advances to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cack throwing shots but Koschek is blocking nicely.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Cack throws a body kick that misses. Cack throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Koschek's waist but Koschek gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cack off to one side. Koschek bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Cack is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cack gets back to half guard. Cack is pressing down on Koschek's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Koschek won't allow Cack to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cack is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Cack trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Cack working for a triangle but Koschek defends it easily.
Koschek knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cack on the ground. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Cack is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Cack manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Cack is in the full mount, landing strikes. Koschek on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Koschek tries to get out of the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cack scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Koschek?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Cack dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Cack throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Cack tries for a takedown but Koschek circles away easily and Koschek counters with a nice double leg into guard. Cack has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Koschek has passed into side control.
Cack wants to control but Koschek postures up. Koschek will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Cack tries to improve position but can't. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cack gets back to half guard. It looks like Koschek is going to stand back up.
Cack should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Cack throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Cack is holding on to half guard well. Cack wants to control but Koschek passes into side.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Cack tries to strike but it doesn't land. Koschek tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Koschek has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Cack tries to get back to half guard but can't. Koschek working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round.

You can see the frustration on Koschek's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Cack working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Koschek parries the strikes from Cack easily there. Cack is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Koschek to escape.
Cack throwing strikes but Koschek manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Cack manages to work his way to half guard, despite Koschek's best efforts. Koschek stalling. Cack moves into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Josh Koschek will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Cack drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Koschek can't do much from the bottom here. The strikes coming from Cack are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Cack advances to full mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cack cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koschek taking shots to the head. Cack scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Cack looking to ground and pound but Koschek is blocking nicely. Cack looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Koschek is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Koschek wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Cack.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Koschek suckers Cack into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Koschek is now in Cack's guard!
Cack throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Koschek escapes and throws Cack's legs to the side, diving into side control! Cack manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Koschek blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cack. Cack thows a huge punch but Koschek dodges it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Koschek is trying to maintain the position but Cack is very close to passing his half guard. Cack wants to take a breather but Koschek is having none of it. Cack sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Koschek defending well though. Cack not landing any meaningful shots this time. Cack trying to control the action but Koschek is working from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Koschek drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cack throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Cack is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Cack is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Cack thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Koschek's head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cack is keen to just control but Koschek is a slippery customer.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniel Cack comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Cack has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
