Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Harry Wang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Liu Kang!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wang takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kang wants to clinch.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Wang lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kang has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kang and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Kang wants to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kang.
Kang fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kang tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wang swivels and escapes.
Harry Wang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Liu Kang.
Kang fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nice takedown defense from Wang. No joy for Kang on that attempt.
Liu Kang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kang shoots in and drives through. Wang sprawls well.
Wang closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kang circles away.
Wang closes the distance and clinches up with Kang, looking for a takedown. Wang pushes Kang against the cage but Kang circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A solid body kick from Wang.
Wang rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kang moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kang shoots in but no luck this time.
Kang looks gassed!
Kang tries to clinch up.
Wang lands with a kick to the temple. Kang shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Kang with a lazy takedown attempt
and Wang counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Wang moves into full mount! Kang won't be happy about that!
Kang wants to hold on but Wang pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kang is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Wang is staying active.
Wang breaks from Kang's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Wang has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wang takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Wang will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wang moves to the back position.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kang won't enjoy being in this position. Wang looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Kang is tapping - it's over boys! Wang picks up the submission victory!
