Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Julian Asangh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pit Mies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pit Mies is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Julian Asangh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pit Mies! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Asangh tries to keep at a distance but Mies has taken the fight into the clinch. Mies can't get the takedown.
Mies breaks the clinch.
Mies fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Asangh avoids it really well and circles away. Mies should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Asangh ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Mies throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mies closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Asangh looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mies is pressing down on Asangh's thigh, looking to free his foot. Asangh is holding on for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Asangh looks like he's trying to stand up.
Mies controlling the pace.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Pit Mies hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Asangh lands with a nice body punch. Mies shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Julian Asangh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pit Mies.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Asangh moves out of range of the body kick. Asangh avoids the head kick by Mies.

Pit Mies seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mies looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Asangh is fending him off so far but Mies persists. Nope, Asangh circles away and we're back to standing. Nice shot by Asangh. Mies goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Asangh's corner calls for a 1-2. Asangh obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Mies misses with a low kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Asangh misses with a two punch combination.
Mies shoots for a takedown but Asangh saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Asangh cracks Mies with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Asangh is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Mies shoots in and bounces Asangh off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Asangh is looking to stand up but Mies isn't so interested in that idea. Mies stays in close to Asangh's body and controls the position. Mies postures up in Asangh's guard and throws a big left but Asangh blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mies tries to free his leg and advance position but Asangh is retaining full guard. Mies is still trying to improve position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Mies content to stall in guard here.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Pit Mies hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Mies misses with a body kick. Mies attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mies tries to score a power double leg takedown but Asangh sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mies somewhat. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mies is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Asangh's half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pit Mies dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Mies throws a poor cross that misses
and Asangh counters with a right hand to the body. Asangh stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Asangh wants it to stay on the feet. Mies takes the fight into the clinch. Mies breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Asangh scores with a punch to the head. Mies fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Asangh, pushing him back against the cage. Mies is struggling to control the position. Asangh wants to break the clinch but can't.
Asangh wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mies pulls Asangh into guard.
Mies looking for a sweep. Not yet Mies, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Asangh wants to control from the top but Mies keeps moving. Asangh trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Asangh is working hard here to advance position. Mies wants to sweep here but Asangh controlling him for the moment. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Asangh pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mies is keeping the position for now. Mies managing to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Julian Asangh wasn't doing enough on the ground. Mies closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mies stands up and beckons Asangh to his feet. Mies darts in and clinches Asangh up against the cage. Mies jumps guard and drags Asangh to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Mies seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mies is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Asangh stops Mies from standing up. Mies pulls Asangh in close to prevent any damage.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Pit Mies hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Asangh will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mies looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Asangh! Asangh tries to escape but Mies is in control. Mies trying to control the position but Asangh is working away. Mies looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Asangh tries to escape but Mies is in control. Asangh taking punishment in the form of punches.
Mies stands up. Asangh avoids the head kick by Mies.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Asangh throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Mies fails with a takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pit Mies showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

The ref stands the fighters back up because Julian Asangh just wasn't active enough. Mies moves into range and clinches up with Asangh. Asangh is trying to break free. Mies manages to pull guard.
Mies is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Asangh tries to free his leg and advance position but Mies is retaining full guard. Asangh trying to control the position from guard on top but Mies is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mies is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Asangh fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mies dives in and grabs Asangh's left leg, looking for a takedown. Asangh pushes down on Mies's head and hops out. Mies does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Mies closes the distance and clinches. Asangh wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Asangh tries to break free but Mies pushes him back against the cage. Stalling in the clinch from Mies.
Asangh is trying to force a seperation but Mies has the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mies has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Asangh regains guard immediately. Mies must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Mies wants to control from the top but Asangh keeps moving. Mies trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Asangh wants to stand and escape but Mies is having none of it. Mies trying to control but Asangh is working from the bottom. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Mies looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Pit Mies has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Mies goes for a double leg but Asangh avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Asangh continues to drive forward. Mies takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mies tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Asangh smiles and moves away.
Julian Asangh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pit Mies. Asangh works Mies's body with a nice hook. Julian Asangh has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Asangh displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Asangh shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mies eats them both and turns towards Asangh to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Mies closes the distance and pushes Asangh back into the cage. Pit Mies is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mies escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
And that's the end of the fight! Pit Mies comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Mies winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
