Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alistair Overdose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Overdose comes into the arena with Powerthirst blaring out of the sound system. Alex James has the eye of the tiger tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex James!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overdose paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.


It looks like Alex James has been cut.
Overdose looks to land a body kick but James moved away.

James dives in for a single leg takedown but Overdose sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that James has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
James chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Overdose can pounce on him.

James sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

James is trying desperately to land a takedown but Overdose is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for James.

James goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Overdose has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for James but great work by Overdose.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
James takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
This has been an exciting period of action!

James has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Overdose is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Overdose lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops James to his knees! Overdose keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Alistair Overdose was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
