PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Uriel Amok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lobsta Mang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amok comes to the cage accompanied by Devils. Mang has chosen Damn It Feels Good To Be A Lobsta as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Lobsta Mang was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 44 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Uriel Amok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lobsta Mang!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amok takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mang on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Amok misses with a right hand
and Mang counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Mang tried to score with a low kick but Amok checks it.
Amok slips under a jab from Mang.
Mang uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Amok.
Mang throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Amok counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Amok.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Amok won't allow Mang to sweep him here.
Amok is looking to advance position but Mang has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Mang sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Amok sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Amok is looking for a sweep. Mang is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mang wants to lay and pray for a moment but Amok keeps working.

Mang is trying to work for a kimura but Amok is defending well.
Amok avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mang.
Amok is pressing down on Mang's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Amok has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mang accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mang is in close to Amok's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mang wants to control from the top but Amok keeps moving.
Amok seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Mang throws a big right hand that misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Mang cracks Amok with a solid left hand.
Amok not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mang lands a couple of elbows.
Mang passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Mang is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Amok knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mang tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mang has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Amok regains half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mang is keen to just control but Amok is a slippery customer.

Mang is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Amok has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lobsta Mang dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Uriel Amok's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Amok rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mang counters with a nice uppercut.

Amok shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mang manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Mang manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Amok manages to get himself to full guard.
Amok looking for a sweep. Not yet Amok, not yet.
Mang is looking to work some ground and pound but Amok has wrist control.
Mang makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Mang content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Mang throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Lobsta Mang has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mang is trying to control. Amok wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Mang thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Amok's head.
Mang wants to lay and pray for a moment but Amok keeps working.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mang is looking for submissions but instead, Amok has regained full guard.

Amok bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mang's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Amok tests Mang's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Mang blocks a jab.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mang gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Amok connects with a crisp jab.
Mang throws a head kick but Amok moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lobsta Mang showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Amok lands a nice shot that snaps Mang's head back.


It looks like Lobsta Mang has been cut.
Mang uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Amok.
Amok is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

The fighters circling - Mang throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Lobsta Mang seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Mang is looking to chop away at Amok's legs.
Amok lands a nice looking body shot.
Amok feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Mangs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Amok jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Amok is looking to land body kicks.
Mang misses with a straight left.
Amok throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mang on the side of the head.

and Mang counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Uriel Amok has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Amok is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Lobsta Mang comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
