Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lorenzo Snow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Darnielle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snow throws a sloppy body shot

and Darnielle counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Darnielle.
A short right from Snow on the inside.

Snow pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Darnielle misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Darnielle tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Snow swivels and escapes.
Darnielle blocks the body kick.
Snow throws a low kick, looking for Darnielle's leg but Darnielle calmly moves out of range.
Lorenzo Snow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Darnielle thows a body kick. Snow tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Darnielle misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

We've been informed that Darnielle has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Darnielle shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Snow lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Darnielle has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Darnielle and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Darnielle pushes Snow up against the cage in a clinch.
Darnielle misses with a punch to the body.
Snow tries to work over Darnielle's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Darnielle misses with the head strike.

Darnielle breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lorenzo Snow is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Snow swats away the attempt to clinch by Darnielle.
A bone on bone clash there as Darnielle blocks the leg kick.
Snow scoring well with a low kick there.
Snow moves in looking to clinch but Darnielle pushes him off.
A looping hook to the body misses from Snow. Darnielle does a little dance to reset his feet.
Snow throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Snow stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Snow wants it to stay on the feet.

Darnielle darts in looking for a takedown but Snow gets double underhooks and turns Darnielle into the cage.
Darnielle creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Snow misses with a hook from the clinch.
Darnielle blocks an uppercut.
Snow lands with a light punch inside.
Snow lands a shoulder strike.
A head punch on the inside from Snow fails to land.
Our sources have told us that Snow has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Snow lands a body punch.
Darnielle can't find room to land a body shot as Snow controls the action.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Darnielle swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Snow misses with a punch on the inside.
Darnielle can't find room to land a body shot as Snow controls the action.
Snow tries a body shot but Darnielle blocks it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Snow lands with a left to the head.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Snow blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Darnielle has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Snow is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Snow throws a series of punches but Darnielle moves out of range.
Darnielle blocks a low kick nicely.

Darnielle tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Snow manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Darnielle connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Darnielle takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Snow throws a chopping leg kick but Darnielle manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Darnielle uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Snow.

Darnielle tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Darnielle takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Snow fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Snow falls off balance throwing a combination
and Darnielle counters with a good, hard body kick but Snow shrugs it off.

Snow throws a hook to the side of Darnielle's head but Darnielle sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Darnielle is trying desperately to land a takedown but Snow is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Darnielle.

Snow tries to clinch up.

Snow has closed the distance and engaged Darnielle in a clinch.
Snow trying to stall but Darnielle improves his position.
Darnielle wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Snow has him pressed against the cage.

Darnielle breaks from the clinch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Darnielle keeps the fight on the outside.
Snow lands with a straight right. Darnielle didn't see that one coming.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Snow is looking to clinch but Darnielle is avoiding it.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Snow throws a leg kick but Darnielle sees it coming and moves out of range.
Darnielle checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Darnielle tries to clinch up but Snow circles away and keeps his distance.

Darnielle fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Snow sprawls well initially but Darnielle persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Darnielle thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Snow's head.
Darnielle misses with a head shot. Snow uses the momentum to regain guard.
Snow looking for a sweep. Not yet Snow, not yet.
Darnielle throws a big right hand that misses.
Darnielle wants to pass the guard but Snow is keeping the position.
Darnielle works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Darnielle not landing any meaningful shots this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Darnielle wants to free his trapped foot but Snow is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Darnielle maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Snow could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Darnielle has cracked it and Snow is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Darnielle!
