McLure comes into the arena with The Simpsons Theme Song blaring out of the sound system. Troy McLure has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Troy McLure!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Norton!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLure showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Norton.
Norton circles away from the clinch attempt
and Norton counters with a left to the body.

McLure instigates a clinch.
McLure lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Scott Norton has been cut.
McLure unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Norton looks winded!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McLure working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
McLure misses with a knee strike.
McLure is pushing Norton up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
McLure misses with a hook to the ribs.
McLure gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Norton tries to break free but McLure pushes him back against the cage.

McLure's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
McLure looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The fight stays on the outside here - McLure looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Norton ducks right into an uppercut from McLure.
McLure throws a series of strikes that have Norton backpedaling.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Norton sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
A head kick misses from McLure.
McLure is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
McLure tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Norton manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
McLure moves in looking to clinch but Norton pushes him off.

McLure moves into the clinch.
Norton takes an elbow to the temple.
Norton stalling in the clinch but McLure improves position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McLure manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
McLure using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Norton has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

McLure keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Norton's efforts to push away.
With the fighters up against the cage, McLure throws an elbow but misses.
McLure misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Norton.
McLure tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Norton avoids it.
Norton letting McLure take a breather here.
McLure creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

McLure misses with a knee strike.
A short body shot lands from McLure as the two fighters clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on McLure - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
A nice glancing elbow lands by McLure.
Norton stalling in the clinch.
Norton blocks an elbow strike from McLure.
McLure's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
McLure seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McLure looking to throw knees to the head but Norton is blocking nicely.

McLure manages to break the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McLure uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Norton.

Norton tries to keep at a distance but McLure has taken the fight into the clinch.
McLure putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Norton in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

McLure breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

McLure lands a big head kick that sends Norton tumbling to the mat! McLure takes a step backwards and waves Norton back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Norton is rocked!


That has opened up Scott Norton's cut even more.

Norton is still on wobbly legs! Can McLure finish him?
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! McLure throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Norton is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Troy McLure!
