Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kari Jurri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Voda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jurri might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rising Darkness. Voda has chosen Lamb of God - Walk With Me In Hell as his entrance music. Jeremy Voda has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Voda!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Kavanagh and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jurri gets a clinch.
Voda is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jurri is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Voda is controlling him.

Voda has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Voda closes the distance and clinches up with Jurri, looking for a takedown. Voda pushes Jurri against the cage but Jurri circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jurri fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Voda.

Kari Jurri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jurri throws a nice looking combination but Voda bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Voda feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Jurri throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Voda rushes Jurri and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Voda lands a body shot.
Jurri misses with a punch to the body.

Voda scores with a nice hook to the head.
Voda is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Jurri is working Voda over against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jurri manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Jurri misses with a body punch.
Jurri misses with a hook to the ribs.
Voda scores with a nice hook to the head.
Voda is trying to drag Jurri to the mat but Jurri just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jurri throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Voda blocks it with crossed arms.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Voda fails with a takedown attempt.
A slapping leg kick lands for Jurri.
Voda looks to land a combination but Jurri avoids it well.
Voda tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jurri paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jurri misses with a looping left.
Jurri swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Jurri looks to land a right hand but Voda moved out of range.
Voda blocks a jab.
Jurri throws a leg kick
and Voda counters with a stiff right hand.
Jurri swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jurri looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Voda moves out of range as Jurri strikes.

Voda tries to clinch but Jurri is having none of it.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jurri.
Voda tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jurri defends well and Voda ends up having to push Jurri into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Jurri can't find room to land a body shot as Voda controls the action.
Voda is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jurri pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Kari Jurri has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremy Voda.
The referee calls for Voda to work.

Voda takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Voda lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Voda tries to clinch there but Jurri circles away.
A slow jab from Voda misses its intended target.
Voda takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Jurri throws a push kick but Voda slaps the foot to one side.
Voda walks into a left hand.

Jurri misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Voda.

Jurri wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Nice takedown defense from Jurri. No joy for Voda on that attempt.

A looping hook to the body misses from Voda. Jurri does a little dance to reset his feet.
No joy there for Voda, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Jurri throws a head kick but Voda moves out of range.
Voda rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jurri moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Voda looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Voda in particular looking to stall.
Voda thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jurri's head.

Voda wants to work for an arm triangle but Jurri is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Jurri wants to get back to full guard.
Voda not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Voda is stalling here. Jurri is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Voda seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jurri has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

so Voda counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jurri utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Voda wants to control from the top but Jurri keeps moving.
Jurri bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Voda's guard.
Jurri controls from within his opponent's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Voda can't keep his opponent in guard - Jurri advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Still in half guard, Jurri seems content to control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

I would just about give that final round to Jeremy Voda.
I think Voda has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
