Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Coors Light (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Coors Light!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Castro!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Light with that takedown attempt.

Light closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Castro to the mat! Castro manages to get full guard.
Light throws a strike but Castro rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Castro throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Light works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Castro throws an elbow that misses. Light uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Castro's guard. Nice move by Light!
Castro tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Castro has control of Light's left arm, preventing Light from doing any damage.
Castro is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Light landing some decent shots from guard.
Castro trying to keep a closed guard but Light is proving a slippery customer.
Light wants to control from the top but Castro keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Light throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Castro tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Light manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Castro is looking to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Light gets a double leg takedown into Castro's guard.
Light throws a big elbow that misses.
Light wants to control from the top but Castro keeps moving.
Castro looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Castro keeping full guard, as Light tries to pass.
Light trying to control the position from guard on top but Castro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Light missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Light stopping the sweep attempt from Castro.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Coors Light.
Castro fails with an attempt to clinch.
Light defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Castro.

Light gets a double leg takedown into Castro's guard.
Light stops Castro from standing up.
Light throwing strikes but missing.
Light chips away with some ground and pound.
Light trying to control the position from guard on top but Castro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Castro is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Light trying to control the position from guard on top but Castro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Castro is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Light is controlling him.
Castro looks winded!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Light closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Castro quickly recovers to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coors Light dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Light shoots in for a takedown but Castro shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Light throws a right hand that Castro ducks under and follows up with a left that Castro also avoids with ease.

Light gets a clinch.
Castro prevents a takedown attempt there.
Light managing to block the knees to the body from Castro.

Light breaks from the clinch.
Coors Light is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Horrible takedown by Light or perhaps it was just good defense by Castro which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Coors Light. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Castro slips a jab and a cross from Light.
Castro is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Castro fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Light swinging wildly here.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Light is defended easily by Castro.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Castro throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Light's waist but Light gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Castro off to one side.
Light throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Castro fails in his attempt to clinch.
Light shoots for a double leg takedown but Castro sprawls well. He's pushed Light's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Castro tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Light paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Coors Light seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Light is defended easily by Castro.
Light circles away from the clinch attempt.

Castro is looking to clinch but Light is avoiding it.

Light drives through with a takedown into Castro's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Castro is adopting a defensive guard.
Castro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Light throwing strikes but missing.
Light preventing the sweep.
Castro is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Light is controlling him.

Light gets to his feet. Castro looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Castro forces Light back against the cage and clinches.
Castro landing knees to the body.
Light tries for a takedown. No joy.
Light is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Castro gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Light takes a knee to the side of the body.

Castro escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Light throws a head kick but Castro moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Light is defended easily by Castro.

Castro gets a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Castro jumps guard.
Castro wants to stand but Light is controlling the position.
Castro managing to control the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Light trying to control but Castro is working from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Castro is controlling Light's posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Joe Castro will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Castro shoots in looking for a takedown. Light tries to sprawl out of it but Castro keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Light manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A punch combination from Light misses.
Light keeps the fight on the outside.
Castro leaves Light with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Light closes this distance looking for a takedown but Castro circles away.
Light darts in looking for a takedown but Castro gets double underhooks and turns Light into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Coors Light. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Light can't break the clinch.
Light wants to break free but Castro has control.

Castro manages to pull guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Castro looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Castro wants to stand but Light is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Castro is on top in guard.
Castro loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Castro throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Coors Light overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Castro looking to sit in guard and control but Light gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Light throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Castro works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Light won't allow Castro to sweep him here.
Light passes Castro's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Castro avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Light.
Castro keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Castro wants to control but Light is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Light prevents Castro from improving his position.
Light lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Light is looking to take a break and control but Castro is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Castro wants to get back to his feet.
Light thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Light thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Castro's head.
Light stalling away here and it's allowed Castro to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Light accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Light wants to control from the top but Castro keeps moving.

Light drops back looking for a leg! Castro is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Castro manages to kick Light off! Light jumps back into Castro's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Coors Light.
I think Light has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
