PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alan Pitbull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sid Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savage has chosen the scatman as his entrance music. Alan Pitbull is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alan Pitbull!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sid Savage!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Pitbull shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Savage is trying to defend but Pitbull finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Pitbull wants to take a breather but Savage is having none of it.
Pitbull will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Savage wants to get back to his feet.
Savage tries to get to full guard but Pitbull has control of the leg.

Pitbull is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Pitbull is looking for a kimura here.
Savage is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pitbull scores with a couple of nice shots.

Pitbull is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Pitbull is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Savage doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pitbull.
Savage looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Savage wants to get back to full guard.
Savage controlling the position for now.

Pitbull is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Savage has managed to free his arm - good work.

Pitbull is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Pitbull thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Savage's head.
Savage has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Pitbull is looking for a kimura but Savage is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pitbull to get the leverage.

Pitbull really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Savage gets back to full guard.
Pitbull trying to control but Savage is working from the bottom.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Pitbull pushing down on Savage's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Pitbull looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Pitbull is trying to control the action in half guard but Savage is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Savage wants to improve his position but Pitbull is controlling well.
Savage is trying to stand back up but Pitbull is controlling him
Pitbull trying to control from half guard but Savage is working away.
Pitbull tries to pass to full mount but Savage defends it.
Savage is staying active underneath Pitbull, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

We're going to have a standup here because Alan Pitbull wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Pitbull gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Pitbull avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Savage keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Pitbull misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Pitbull keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pitbull shoots in and drives through. Savage sprawls well.
We've been told by Pitbull's head coaches at Blitzkrieg Fighting Systems: Ground that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pitbull takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Pitbull shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Savage counters with a left and a right that stings Pitbull.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alan Pitbull. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pitbull on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Pitbull takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Pitbull slips under a jab.
Savage avoids the head kick by Pitbull.
Savage throws an overhand right that lands on Pitbull's shoulder, as Pitbull tries to avoid the shot.
Savage scores with a nice head shot.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pitbull takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Savage cracks Pitbull with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.


Pitbull is rocked!
Savage is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Pitbull had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Pitbull doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sid Savage will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Some wild striking there from Pitbull.
Pitbull walks into a left hand.
Oh Pitbull is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Savage catches Pitbull napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Pitbull to the canvas!

Pitbull is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Savage stands up over Pitbull, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Pitbull has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Savage can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Savage working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Pitbull's head.

Pitbull isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Savage stacks Pitbull on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Savage!
Pitbull wants to control but Savage postures up.
Pitbull seems to have got his legs back now.
Pitbull manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Savage is trying to stand up here but Pitbull is controlling him well.
Pitbull wants to free his trapped foot but Savage is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Pitbull is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Savage tries to kick Pitbull off but Pitbull keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Savage is trying to control but can't.
Pitbull works his way into side control.

Pitbull wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Savage, who protects the arm well.
Savage is trying to buck Pitbull off.

Pitbull trying to control the action but Savage is working from the bottom.
Pitbull is really struggling to control Savage but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Pitbull prevents Savage from escaping the position.

Pitbull is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Savage is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Savage is trying to get back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Savage stops Pitbull from passing to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pitbull looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Savage is avoiding damage well.

Pitbull is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Savage knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Pitbull misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Savage prevents Pitbull from moving into mount.

Pitbull in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Savage is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Alan Pitbull!
Alan Pitbull very nearly forgot to thank CEC Nutrition Q160 amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
