Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Fritzjimmins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by Sabaton- Metal machine. Fritzjimmins has chosen FUNKY TOWN! as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Dan Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Fritzjimmins! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith gets the takedown into side control. Fritzjimmins taking a bit of punishment here - Smith scoring with strikes. Fritzjimmins is looking for a sweep. Fritzjimmins is not content to let Smith control the position. Fritzjimmins regains half guard. Fritzjimmins makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fritzjimmins. Fritzjimmins looking to control.
Smith throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fritzjimmins works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Smith content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Fritzjimmins is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Smith controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fritzjimmins keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully.

Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fritzjimmins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Fritzjimmins's legs - danger averted. Fritzjimmins keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully. Smith is working Fritzjimmins over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Smith keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Fritzjimmins's head. Smith chips away with some ground and pound. Fritzjimmins manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fritzjimmins drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Smith manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Fritzjimmins has Smith in his guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fritzjimmins had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Smith defends it easily. Fritzjimmins is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Smith defends well. Fritzjimmins wants to sweep here but Smith controlling him for the moment. Fritzjimmins looking to control but Smith passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fritzjimmins slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Smith might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Fritzjimmins escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Smith looking to pass the guard. Smith passes into half guard. Smith not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Fritzjimmins manages to get to full guard.
Fritzjimmins throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Smith escapes and throws Fritzjimmins's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Fritzjimmins takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Smith lands a nice forearm strike. Smith is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fritzjimmins has escaped the position, nice work there. Fritzjimmins tries to bench press Smith off him but Smith keeps the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Smith is putting a hurting on Fritzjimmins here, landing some big shots from side control. Smith wants to control but Fritzjimmins is keeping him busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fritzjimmins tries to advance to mount but Smith denies him. Smith is looking to regain half guard here but Fritzjimmins keeps moving and retains side control. Fritzjimmins trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom. Smith gets back to half guard. Fritzjimmins is looking to advance position but Smith won't allow it. Smith tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Fritzjimmins has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fritzjimmins prevents Smith from getting the reversal. Fritzjimmins with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Smith sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Fritzjimmins looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dan Smith. Well Smith has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
