Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, JunJun Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshida Tanaka!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanaka gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Jones passes Tanaka's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Jones stands up out of the half guard.
Jones defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tanaka.
Jones throws a nice outside leg kick.
Jones gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jones darts in and clinches Tanaka up against the cage.
Jones manages to break the clinch.
Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Tanaka tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tanaka tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jones dives in and grabs Tanaka's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tanaka pushes down on Jones's head and hops out.
Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tanaka sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jones seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Jones not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Tanaka is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
JunJun Jones has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jones throws a nice head kick!
Jones darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

We're going to have a standup here because JunJun Jones wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Tanaka shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Tanaka keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Tanaka throws a chopping leg kick but Jones manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
That kick from Jones tenderised Tanaka's leg. Tanaka is trying to keep his angry face on.
Jones lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Jones, right into the meat.

A thudding body kick lands there by Jones!
Jones throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Jones manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tanaka on his heels. He'll look to pass Tanaka's guard now, I'm sure.
Tanaka can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jones controls the pace.

Jones with a flurry of punches that miss.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jones forces his way into half guard.
Jones with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Tanaka throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Jones passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Tanaka!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones lands a big elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jones looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Tanaka keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nice takedown defense from Tanaka. No joy for Jones on that attempt.
Jones scores with a push kick.
Jones throws a head kick that Tanaka semi-blocks.
Tanaka shoots in but no luck this time.
JunJun Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Jones drives through and clinches with Tanaka against the cage.

Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tanaka sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Tanaka swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for JunJun Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Tanaka is breathing heavily.
Jones stands up.
Tanaka takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Jones looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Tanaka!
Tanaka is looking for a sweep.
Jones just content to control the position.

Jones lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Tanaka down.
Tanaka bucks up and tries to throw Jones off but instead Jones has got his back!
I would not like to be Tanaka right now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tanaka is covering up but some of the strikes from Jones are getting through and doing damage.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jones is landing with strikes. Tanaka can't take much more of this.

The referee is taking a good look at Tanaka as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Jones!

Jones is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Tanaka defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Jones lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Jones.
Tanaka covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones is looking for the choke from the back position but Tanaka is controlling his hands well.
Tanaka rolls, trying to escape but Jones keeps control of the position.
Jones lands with a hammerfist to the side of Tanaka's head.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Jones thumps Tanaka with a low kick.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Jones - that will leave a mark!
Tanaka misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jones throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tanaka was covering up waiting for the punch and Jones finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jones slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Jones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tanaka can do to turn this around?
Jones lands an elbow.
Tanaka takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
A lull in the action here as Jones stalls from top position.
Jones decides to stand back up. Jones steps back and let's Tanaka get back to his feet.
Tanaka's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Jones shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jones was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Jones thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Tanaka trying to remain calm as Jones controls from the top position.
Jones decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Jones throws a head kick that half lands.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Tanaka crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Jones - the referee stops the clock and Tanaka gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Jones. Tanaka manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Jones lands a nice looking kick to the body. Tanaka takes a step back to recover.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tanaka stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jones.
Tanaka gets tackled into the cage by Jones. Jones maintains the clinch.
Jones goes for a takedown attempt but Tanaka pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Tanaka gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jones stands up from Tanaka's guard - Jones perhaps looking for a knockout.
Tanaka has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Jones.
Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tanaka napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones stands up and we're back to a striking position.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Jones.

Jones slows the pace down.
Jones lands some shots froms side control.
Tanaka being controlled for a moment.
Jones advances to mount.
Jones looking to control and managing it successfully.

Jones get's back to his feet.
Tanaka on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
A punch combination from Tanaka misses.
Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tanaka looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Jones has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking JunJun Jones rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
