Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Milovan Drecun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Badr Aerts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Milovan Drecun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Badr Aerts!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drecun shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Aerts counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Aerts.
Aerts throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Aerts gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.


It looks like Milovan Drecun has been cut.
A knee to the head by Aerts.
Aerts comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Aerts leaning against his opponent.
Aerts throws an elbow that misses.
Drecun avoiding damage as Aerts throws knees to the body.
Drecun prevents a takedown attempt there.
Aerts lands an elbow just above Drecun 's eye.
Aerts drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Drecun gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Aerts misses with an elbow strike.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Aerts lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Aerts tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Aerts.

Aerts's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nice sprawl there from Aerts as Drecun shoots in.
Aerts pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Badr Aerts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Drecun instigates a clinch.
Aerts comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


Milovan Drecun's cut is getting worse.
Aerts lands a knee to the head.

Aerts escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Drecun moves out of range of the body kick.
Drecun misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Drecun misses with a takedown attempt - Aerts sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milovan Drecun. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Drecun shoots in for a takedown but Aerts shows good takedown defense.
The fight stays on the outside here - Aerts looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Aerts is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Aerts instigates a clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Aerts has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Drecun after a bit of a struggle.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Aerts pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Drecun changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Aerts tries to avoid it but Drecun manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Aerts to the ground. Aerts escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Aerts is looking to clinch.
Aerts looks to land a body kick but Drecun moved away.
Aerts closes the distance but Drecun moves to the side

and Drecun counters by clinching up.
Aerts comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Aerts creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Drecun's defenses.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Drecun.
Aerts lands a nice elbow.


Milovan Drecun's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The referee calls for Aerts to work.
Drecun takes an elbow to the temple.
Aerts lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Drecun managing to block the knees to the body from Aerts.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Aerts leaning against his opponent.
Aerts continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Aerts has Drecun pressed against the cage, preventing Drecun from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Drecun changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Aerts fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Aerts pushes Drecun up against the cage in a clinch.
Aerts creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Drecun's defenses.


Jeez, Milovan Drecun's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stalling in the clinch from Aerts.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Aerts lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


Drecun is rocked!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Milovan Drecun's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
