PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anirudh Negi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Brewster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Negi comes into the arena with Fort Minor - Remember The Name blaring out of the sound system. Brewster is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Step up. Bruce Brewster will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anirudh Negi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Brewster!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Negi lands a nice looking body shot.
Negi scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Bruce Brewster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brewster throws a chopping leg kick but Negi manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Negi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Brewster looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Negi thuds a left hand into Brewster's body.
Brewster looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Brewster misses with a hook

and Negi counters by moving into the clinch.
Negi blocks an uppercut.
Negi works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Negi blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A nice right hand lands inside from Negi.
A short body shot lands from Negi as the two fighters clinch.
Brewster can't break the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Negi digs a right hand into Brewster's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Brewster's gas tank.
Brewster wants to stall.
Negi blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Negi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Brewster's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Negi creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Brewster tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Negi's elbow.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Negi looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Brewster is rocked!

Negi lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Negi lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Brewster to his knees! Negi keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anirudh Negi!
Anirudh Negi seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
The defeated Bruce Brewster had this to say: 'I've been better in this fight. I've been robbed.'.
