Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sepp Maier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Poulter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Maier might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Apaga mas não bate. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
38 - 26 - 0, fighting out of London, Sepp Maier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
30 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Poulter! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poulter tried to score with a low kick but Maier checks it. Maier avoids a kick to the body.
Paul Poulter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Poulter looks for the body kick but Maier saw that one coming. Maier fails with an attempt to clinch.
Maier moves in looking to clinch but Poulter pushes him off. Maier tries to close the distance and clinch but Poulter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Poulter stuffs the takedown attempt from Maier. Maier gets slowly back to his feet. Poulter throws a sloppy head kick and Maier moves out of range easily. Maier tries to clinch but Poulter moves out of range. Maier shoots in but Poulter avoids the takedown attempt easily. Maier fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sepp Maier. That's going to take a lot out of him. Maier changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Poulter tries to avoid it but Maier manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Poulter to the ground. Poulter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Poulter looks to score with a jab to the body but Maier is just out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maier tries to score a power double leg takedown but Poulter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maier somewhat. Poulter throws a leg kick that misses. Poulter lands a nice leg kick that just misses Maier's sensitive parts. A shot to the liver by Poulter. Beautiful body shot. Poulter dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Poulter connects with a leg kick. Maier looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Poulter tried to score with a low kick but Maier checks it. Poulter misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Maier fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Maier shoots in looking for a takedown. Poulter tries to sprawl out of it but Maier keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Poulter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Poulter scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Maier shoots for a double leg takedown but Poulter sprawls well. He's pushed Maier's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Maier closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Poulter did well to prevent Maier getting side control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Maier is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Poulter defends it well. Maier is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Poulter has managed to free his arm - good work. Maier is thwarting Poulter's attempts to control the position. Maier throws a strike but Poulter avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maier is in close to Poulter's body, working some short punches and elbows. Maier throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Poulter works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Maier working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Poulter looking to control.
Maier throws a big right hand that misses. Maier tries to free his leg and advance position but Poulter is retaining full guard. Maier lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Maier throws an elbow that misses. Poulter uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Maier's guard. Nice move by Poulter! Maier looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Poulter passes into half guard.
Maier is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Poulter is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Maier! Poulter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Maier manages to regain half guard. Good work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maier missing with punches from the bottom.

A close round but Paul Poulter will probably get the nod. That's time! Maier's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Poulter leaves Maier with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Poulter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Poulter lands a high kick!
Poulter looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Maier shoots in but no luck this time. Maier tries to clinch there but Poulter circles away.
A head kick by Maier misses enabling Poulter to counter with a crisp jab. Poulter gets caught flat footed, as Maier shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Maier throws a big right hand that misses. Poulter is trying to keep Maier in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maier drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Poulter manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Maier has Poulter in his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maier isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Poulter stacks Maier on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Poulter! Poulter in side control, just content to control the action for now. Maier is trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maier tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Poulter presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Maier tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maier is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Maier is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at London MMA Club, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Poulter seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Maier is holding on tight.
Maier is trying desperately to improve position. Maier bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Maier throwing strikes but missing. Maier has gone for a leg lock! Poulter slips out almost immediately though and dives into Maier's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maier working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Poulter has passed into half guard!
Maier wants to improve his position but Poulter is controlling well.
Poulter wants to pass the guard but Maier is defending well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Poulter is keen to just control but Maier is a slippery customer. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Sepp Maier will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Maier takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Poulter dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Maier. That did some damage! A telegraphed right hand from Poulter misses the target. Paul Poulter seems to be getting the better of the standup. Maier moves out of range of the body kick from Poulter.
Poulter throws a low kick but Maier avoids it. Poulter misses with a head kick.
Poulter scores with a jab to the body. Poulter is looking to land body kicks. Poulter fakes the leg kick and cracks Maier in the body. Poulter keeps Maier at a distance using the push kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Poulter missing with a left hand there. Maier was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Poulter stuffs the takedown attempt from Maier. Maier gets slowly back to his feet. Maier tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Poulter paws at him with a jab and circles away. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maier fails to land the takedown. Maier tries to clinch there but Poulter circles away.
Poulter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sepp Maier is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Maier moves in looking to clinch but Poulter pushes him off. Maier blocks a leg kick. Poulter scoring well with a low kick there.
Poulter lands with a nice body punch. Poulter misses with a low kick. A solid leg kick lands there for Poulter.
Maier shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Poulter but Poulter pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sepp Maier. That's going to take a lot out of him. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Maier is defended easily by Poulter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maier on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Poulter goes for a high kick. It partially lands. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Poulter lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

A swing and a miss from Poulter. Maier moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Paul Poulter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Poulter throws an off balance right hand
and Maier counters by clinching up. Maier tries to pull guard but Poulter holds him up against the cage and eventually Maier drops back down to his feet.
Poulter manages to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Poulter throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Maier shoots in but no luck this time. Poulter throws a push kick but Maier slaps the foot to one side. Maier moves in looking to clinch but Poulter pushes him off. Poulter throws a lazy right hand but Maier sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Maier shoots in looking for a takedown but Poulter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Maier's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Poulter goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. A decent looking cross lands there for Poulter. Maier fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Poulter scores with a spinning back kick! Poulter fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Maier. Poulter connects with a solid leg kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Poulter throws a sloppy head kick and Maier moves out of range easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Maier. Poulter connects with a high kick. Poulter throws a push kick but Maier slaps the foot to one side. A chopping leg kick lands by Poulter. Poulter throws a leg kick and Maier counters with a single leg into guard. Poulter didn't expect that. Maier drops back, looking for a kneebar! Poulter looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Poulter looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Poulter! Maier tries to improve position but can't. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Poulter is staying tight to Maier's torso, preventing him from escaping.
And that's the end of the fight! Paul Poulter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Poulter has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
