The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia misses with a takedown
so Silva counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Garcia swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Silva passes Garcia's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Silva is controlling the pace.
Silva's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Silva wants to stand but Garcia has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
That's one minute gone in the round.

Silva is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Garcia is trying to escape and Silva transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Garcia is forced to tap! Nice work there by Silva! Very nice indeed!

Damian Silva decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
