Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Cross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nicolas De Ertu!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Ertu goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
De Ertu shoots for a double leg takedown but Cross sprawls well. He's pushed De Ertu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. De Ertu lands a nice short elbow.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De Ertu thows a huge punch but Cross dodges it nicely.
De Ertu is figuring out what he wants to do next.

De Ertu thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
De Ertu takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Nicolas De Ertu hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
No luck with that takedown attempt from De Ertu.

De Ertu throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cross tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. De Ertu is in Cross's guard.
Cross knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for De Ertu on the ground.
De Ertu's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Cross utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
De Ertu controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

De Ertu postures up in Cross's guard and throws a big left but Cross blocks it.
De Ertu slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as De Ertu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
De Ertu's corner is telling him to maintain position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Nicolas De Ertu has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Cross takes the fight into the clinch.

De Ertu manages to break the clinch.
Cross fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but De Ertu avoids it really well and circles away.

De Ertu feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

De Ertu is looking to stand up but Cross won't let him.
De Ertu won't allow Cross to sweep him here.
Cross controls De Ertu momentarily but De Ertu frees himself.
De Ertu scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
De Ertu lands a couple of decent looking shots.
De Ertu is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
De Ertu is looking to work some ground and pound but Cross has wrist control.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. De Ertu connects with a nice short shot to Cross's temple.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

De Ertu drives through with a takedown into Cross's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

De Ertu is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Cross is desperately trying to improve his position but De Ertu has a good base and remains in mount.

De Ertu looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Cross covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
