Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Jinkens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matthew Romero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Anthony Jinkens! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romero takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Jinkens scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Jinkens misses with a wild body shot. Jinkens clobbers Romero with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Romero fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jinkens avoids it really well and circles away. Anthony Jinkens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Romero throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Romero tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jinkens defends well and Romero ends up having to push Jinkens into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero stalling.
Jinkens is looking to break free of the clinch but Romero has double underhooks. Romero keeps control of Jinkens as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Jinkens is trying to push Romero away but Romero has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Romero putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Jinkens in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Romero could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. It's hard to tell if that hurt Jinkens or not. Romero has Jinkens pushed against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Romero breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jinkens throws a head kick but Romero moves out of range.
Romero throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jinkens tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Romero is in Jinkens's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Romero drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Romero jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jinkens wants to hit a switch here but Romero passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Jinkens there! Romero working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Jinkens turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Romero off and cradles Jinkens's limp body as Romero celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Matthew Romero!
