Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Woods!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Morgan!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan throws a hook to the side of Woods's head but Woods sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Woods fails with an attempt to clinch.
Woods throws the kick towards the body but Morgan avoids it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Morgan enables Woods to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Morgan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Morgan has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Woods is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Morgan.

Woods looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Morgan prevents Woods from improving position.
Woods wants to lay and pray for a moment but Morgan keeps working.
Morgan manages to work his way to half guard, despite Woods's best efforts.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Morgan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Woods can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Woods is pushing down on Morgan's leg trying to pass to half guard. Morgan is fighting to maintain full guard but Woods has managed to sneak the leg through.
Morgan felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Woods is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Morgan!
Morgan is looking to improve his position but Woods isn't that keen on the idea.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Woods is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Morgan is surviving well by controlling Woods's body position as best he can.

Morgan tries to roll over but Woods keeps him under control.
Woods passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Morgan!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Morgan manages to regain half guard. Good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Woods dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Woods tries to clinch there but Morgan circles away.
Morgan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Woods throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Woods here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Morgan looks to land a combination. Woods sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Morgan swats away the attempt to clinch by Woods.
Woods lands a head kick. Morgan smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Woods scores with a kick to the body.
Woods fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Morgan.

Woods shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Morgan sprawls well. Morgan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Woods gets slowly back to his feet.
Woods throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Morgan moves out of range as Woods throws a body kick.
Morgan throws a nice looking combination but Woods bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A punch combination from Morgan misses.
Woods shoots in for a double leg but Morgan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Woods lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
The fighters circling - Morgan throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Morgan thows a left - swing and a miss!

Morgan works over Woods's head and body with a nice combination.
Woods dodges the punch combination from Morgan.
Woods shoots for a takedown but Morgan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Woods. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Morgan misses with a series of wild punches.
Woods fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Morgan has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Morgan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Woods moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Morgan thows a body shot but no joy.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jack Woods will probably get the nod.

Morgan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Woods pulls his head out easily.

Woods looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Woods looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Morgan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Woods, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
