The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moldoon ducks under a wild hook from Mengel.
Moldoon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mengel misses with a right hand
and Moldoon counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mengel won't be happy with that.
Moldoon tries for a kimura but Mengel is defending well.
Moldoon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mengel, who protects the arm well.
Mengel wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Moldoon tries to move into full mount but can't pass Mengel's legs.
Mengel wants to get back to his feet but Moldoon drags him back down.
That's one minute gone in the round.

Moldoon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mengel keeps working.
Mengel wants to get back to his feet.
Moldoon is working Mengel over with some ground and pound from side control.

Mengel explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Mengel catches Moldoon with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Moldoon uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mengel.
Moldoon misses with a takedown
and Mengel counters with a monster head kick that knocks Moldoon out cold! He topples like fallen a tree, crashing to the mat! Timbeeeeeerrr!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). George Mengel!
