Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Kirby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnold Van Opstal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Kirby! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Arnold Van Opstal! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Opstal tries to sprawl but Kirby drives through with a takedown into half guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Kirby prevents Van Opstal from standing back up.
Kirby performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Kirby passes to side control. Van Opstal is looking to reverse the position. Kirby is chipping away with strikes.
Kirby trying to control the position but Van Opstal is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kirby just content to control the position. Van Opstal tries to escape but Kirby is in control. Van Opstal is being controlled here. Kirby wants to lay and pray for a moment but Van Opstal keeps working. Kirby tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jim Kirby. Van Opstal tries to clinch up but Kirby circles away and keeps his distance. Kirby looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Van Opstal is fending him off so far but Kirby persists. Nope, Van Opstal circles away and we're back to standing. Kirby goes for a double leg but Van Opstal avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Van Opstal continues to drive forward. Van Opstal is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kirby to keep the fight standing. Van Opstal has Kirby pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kirby manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Van Opstal is trying to pull guard but Kirby turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Jim Kirby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arnold Van Opstal. A short left from Van Opstal. Van Opstal dodges an elbow strike from Kirby.
Van Opstal tries to break free but Kirby pushes him back against the cage. Kirby misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Van Opstal.
Van Opstal jumps guard but Kirby turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kirby misses with an elbow strike.
Van Opstal tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kirby just stands there and leans against the cage. Kirby has hold of one of Van Opstal's legs. Van Opstal is fighting the takedown attempt but Kirby gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Van Opstal is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kirby is controlling him. Kirby pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Van Opstal is keeping the position for now. Kirby is looking to stand up but Van Opstal won't let him. Kirby stands and throws Van Opstal's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kirby in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Van Opstal is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
